In view of grievances of certain citizens flagged during public outreach camps in the district regarding the inaccessibility of land records for the public,Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today demonstrates the application of accessing land records online, encouraging citizens to take advantage of this facility.

The revolutionary digital facility which is accessible to all citizens without any human interface of local revenue officials, minimise the corruption and enhancing responsiveness and transparency, said DC Shopian while appealing to the public to make use of the facility and be empowered/sensitized about your land records.

Demonstration is an effort by the DC to make massive awareness of the initiative, which is available for years now, although not been used widely by the people.

The effort is part of the government's efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric governance.

Benefits of Online Land Records
1. *Convenience*: Citizens can access their land records from anywhere, at any time, using their mobile devices or computers.
2. *Transparency*: Online land records reduce the risk of tampering or manipulation, ensuring that the information is accurate and reliable.

4. *Reduced Corruption*: By making land records publicly available, the online system helps to reduce corruption and promotes good governance.

How to Access Online Land Records: Stepwise

1. Visit the official website of the Revenue Department or the designated portal for land records " *landrecords.jk.gov.in*
2. Click on the Apki Zameen,Apki Nigrani,then click on "Land Records" or "View Land Records" tab.
3. Enter the required details, such as the district, tehsil, village, and land owner's name.
4. Verify the details and submit the request.
5. The land records will be displayed on the screen, and you can download or print them as needed.
