NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday announced to withdraw the Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes from circulation.
However, the Rs 2,000 notes will continue to be legal tender. The has asked banks to provide deposit and/or exchange facility for Rs 2,000 notes until September 30, 2023.

*No Property for small houses, meagre for small businesses: Govt**

Jammu, Feb 23 : In a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary to deliberate upon misinformation created regarding property tax in and , it was clarified that all the poor, marginalized having small houses having built-up area up to 1000 square feet have been exempted by the government from paying any property tax to be levied from April onwards this year.

Similarly, all places of worship, including Temples, Masjids, Gurudwaras, Churches, Ziarats, Cremation grounds, Burial grounds etc are exempt from payment of property tax.

*JKSCERT issues date sheet for term end exams of 8th standard*

*Exams in soft zones to commence from February-27, hard zones from March-24*

, Feb 12: and State Council of Educational Research and Training ( ) Sunday announced date sheet for term end examinations for 8th standard.

The examinations in soft zones will commence from February-27 while in hard zones, the exams will be conducted from March-24 respectively.

JKSCERT advised the examinees to strictly adhere to all instructions for students appearing in Examination.
The candidate shall carry admit cards on all days of examination for verification.

25 Embankment points to be set up across country; VIP quouta abolished*

Srinagar, Feb 06 : Announcing the Haj-2023 policy for this year's holy pilgrimage of Haj, the Haj Committee of India ( ) today said that this year there will be 25 Haj Embankment points while as Haj application forms will be made available after three days and there will be no fee for the same.

HCoI also announced to abolish the VIP quouta under which dignitaries were entitled to accomodate five to ten pilgrims under the quota. "There will be no VIP quouta henceforth," Er Aijaz said.

After thorough discussions between HCoI and Saudi Government, it was decided that this year over 1,75000 pilgrims will perform the holy pilgrimage of Haj 2023.

On January 10, India had signed the bilateral agreement with the Government to fix the total number of pilgrims this year. Er Aijaz said that HCoIs endeavour this year will be to make Haj2023 cheaper compared to previous years and ensure more and better facilities to pilgrims at both holy cities of and .

**MeT forecasts light snowfall in Kashmir in 24 hours**

Srinagar, Feb 3: The department here on Friday said that there was a possibility of light snowfall at scattered places of Kashmir in the next 24 hours.

A meteorological department official here told that mainly dry weather was expected thereafter for two weeks.
