crisis in Guntur to be averted... Guntur received 36% deficit between Jun’18 and Apr’19... the ground water table has dropped by 20Ft. The 15 lakes in Guntur town which are almost dry need to be replenished to avoid the ground water level dropping further.

• GMC submitted a Action Plan to EC and requested a sanction of ₹4 Cr.
• The no. of tankers engaged by need to be increased.
• Releasing 0.2 TMC of water from Pulichintala reservoir would meet the needs of Guntur for 2 months.
