New Guidelines from 5th July to 12th July
*Pillion riders shall now be allowed in all two wheelers
* Odd/Even will remain continue

i. All State Government offices including PSUs, Boards, Corporations under the State Government shall work with 100% attendance of those employees who have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Other employees may be permitted to follow the present arrangement of 50% attendance. HoDs to ensure vaccination of all employees in consultation with the Health Department.

ii. All factories, production units and commercial establishments, where all the workers/employees have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, shall now be allowed to operate with 100% manpower. Other units will continue to follow 50% attendance norm. The management shall ensure that Covid-19 protocol is followed by all.

iii. Entry of all persons, including tourists, who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, shall be allowed entry from Melli and Rangpo check post, without RTPCR Negative report, on production of valid vaccination documents. For all others, existing restrictions will continue to apply. iv. All Hotels, Guest Houses, Home Stays etc. shall be allowed to operate with 50% capacity. The management shall ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol.

v. Malls, Showrooms shall be permitted to operate. Covid-19 protocols shall be strictly adhered to by the management of such units.


vi. Pillion riders shall now be allowed in all two wheelers.

Pakyong-Assam Lingzey-Bhusuk Road washed away completely on 22.6.21 has been restored on record time with the joint initiative of Roads & Bridges , Land Revenue and Forest Department.The road will be fully trafficable from Tuesday for small cars also.The Road serves as the vital alternative link to Airport and Pakyong Sub Division.The people of Namcheybong and Assam Lingzey have expressed their happiness for the prompt restoration work to the Government since it serves the people of these areas mostly.

Huge Quantity of drugs Seized at Gangtok !!

While the police and all other stakeholders were busy observing International Day Against Drug Abuse at various places in East District, some people were still peddling in drugs ignoring the significant of the day.
In continuation of efforts to crackdown on drugs, Sadar PS team, East District at around 1405 hrs received a source information stating that one person named Yesar Arfat was suspected to have contraband substances and roaming around in arithang area. Subsequently he was intercepted at Arithang near Rai cottage and on search of his body he was in possession of contraband substances around 230 capsules of Spasmodon and 20 tablets of Nitrosun 10 which were sezied. Further he disclosed that the contraband substances was brought from one person who stays at hotel sidharth at MG Marg. Based on info the search of hotel was conducted wherein one person name Durga Gupta @ Golu was found concealing the contraband substances in which a total 7700 spasmodon capsules and 2600 Nitroson tablets were found and seized (10,300). The market value is about 2 lakhs. Case under relevant sections registered. People involved taken into custody. Further investigation is on.
