BREW’S WOMEN’S AWARDS took place at Club Crest, pheonix market city, Velachery, Chennai on 31st March 2019 (Sunday). The event was an immense success. More than 100 guests attended the event. The eminent personalities who were seen at the event were Ashok Verghese, CK Kumaravel, Vivek Karunakaran and many others. The first attraction of the event was the panel discussion moderated by Sujith Kumar and four inspiring women Panelists. Kuppulakshmi Krishnamoorthy, product evangelist at ZOHO, Sakthishree Gopalan, practising Architect/Indian vocalist/performer/ independent artist. Kirthi Jayakumar, founder at The Red Elephant Foundation and Deepthi Bopaiah, founder at Gosports Foundation. They shared their life experiences and also spoke about how they accepted their challenges they had to face in the life. Next up was the awards program, Seven Women were honoured for different achievements. Sundari Akka from Marina Beach was a big hit for her inspiring talk after receiving the award. The second award was given to the president of TNBSA and the Vice President of BSFI. She’s a 66 year old Billards and snooker player and the first women to be elected in any sports Federation. Third awardee for the night was Salini, a child labourer who is leading the India’s Street Child World Cup. Sujitha S, is an IAS aspirant, who is working towards an organised set up for the salt pan workers. Next up was Sathya Anand, she runs a special school for differently abled children. She quit her job in Dubai to start this initiative. Next in line, Sunayna Kuruvilla, just at the age of 19, she is a professional squash player. She’s ranked 89th and has won a silver medal at the Asian games 2018. Last but not the least is Neelam Jain, what she’s doing to the transgender community is phenomenal. She’s working towards business and job opportunities for the transgender communities. She’s the founder of PeriFerry. The host of the show were Sameer Bharath Ram and Vivek Karunakaran. The event ended with a note of thanks and a song dedicated to all the flawesome ladies by the one and only Shaktishree Gopalan.
