DON’T NEED HEROIN TO BE A HERO The Indian Coast Guard, in a joint operation with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), intercepted a Pakistani boat carrying 14 crew members and approximately 86 kilograms of heroin worth ₹600 crore off the Gujarat coast. 🚢💊 The operation was carried out based on intelligence inputs that the Pakistani boat, identified by the call sign "Ali," was coordinating with an Indian boat using the password "Haider" to smuggle the drugs from Karachi to Tamil Nadu and then to Sri Lanka. 🕵️♂️💼 During the operation, the Pakistani crew attempted to ram their boat into the Indian security forces, prompting the officials to open fire, injuring one crew member. 🔫😠 The successful operation resulted in the arrest of all 14 Pakistani nationals and the seizure of the huge drug haul. 🛑👮♂️ #thearchivenews #india #coastgaurd #NCB #ATF #Pakistan #SriLanka #cruiselife #cruiseship #smugglersrun #cartelgram #pirates #cycling #Pablo #fypシ゚ #explore
RUN JOURNALIST, RUN 🏃♀️ An Australian journalist had to “leave India abruptly” after allegedly being told by the Indian government that she had “crossed a line”. 🚫 Avani Dias, the South Asia bureau chief of Australia’s national broadcaster ABC News, claimed that the government had made it “too difficult” for her to report from the country, including on the General Elections. 🗳️🚷 Ms. Dias, who has worked in India since January 2022, said an official from India’s Foreign Ministry had called her to inform her that her visa would not be renewed and she would have to leave the country. 🛂✈️ She was reportedly told the decision was prompted by her coverage of the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Sikh separatist leader who was shot dead in Canada last year. 📰🔍 “He specifically said it was because of my Sikh separatist story, saying ‘It had gone too far’,” she said. 📌🚩 The Ministry of Information and Communications has banned Avani’s investigative documentary on the death of Hardeep Singh Najjar in the country. So the content is unavailable here. 📵🎥 Government sources state that the Australian journalist paid for a visa extension a day before leaving India. Still, she had allegedly violated security norms while filming at the Wagah border, and the ABC film crew did not follow visa norms for documentary-making. 🎬🚨 “Coverage of election activities outside the booth is permitted to all J1 Visa holders. Authority letters are required only for access to polling booths and counting stations. This, however, cannot be processed while the visa extension is under process,”, adding that two other journalists working with the same Australian outlet have “received their letters”. 📩🗳️ Very conflicting information is available, especially when international media organizations are making allegations of the lack of freedom of the press here. ❓🌍 -Why did they stop the documentary if
THIS TRASH IS ON FIAAAHHH 🔥 Among the rubbish mounds in India, this 65-meter behemoth garbage mountain has been on fire for longer than 24 hours. 🗑️ Here’s why that matters. The Ghazipur Landfill, spanning a length of an insane 3.5 km, caught fire amid soaring temperatures in the region. 🌡️ The landfill, which has been in existence since 1894, reached its capacity in 2002. It's been a ticking time bomb for over two decades. 💣 Let's talk about the real culprit here - waste management. Or lack thereof. Indian cities generate approximately 62 million tons of waste annually, with projections suggesting this figure will surge to 165 million tons by 2030. 🗑️♻️ The government is more interested in pointing fingers at each other than addressing the root cause, which is waste management. 👈👉 Now the health benefits of inhaling toxic fumes. Well, I’m not a doctor but I’m pretty sure there are no benefits. It can lead to an assortment of respiratory issues to choose from. . All those cigarettes will start catching up to you. 🚭 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently in opposition in Delhi, has criticized Arvind Kejriwal, the state's incarcerated leader, for his administration's inability to address the landfill issue. RP Singh, a BJP spokesperson, stated, "The Delhi government has failed. They promised to clear the landfill by December 2023, but they are corrupt and preoccupied with internal conflicts. They don't care about Delhi" 🏙️💔 Whoever is responsible, I think it’s time we start taking these things seriously. Be all responsible for our waste, and encourage others to be conscious too. 🌍♻️ A giant mountain of garbage on fire is a massive red flag, and it’s not the kind you ignore. 🚩 If the authorities prove to be useless, it’s time to take charge. Go out there and vote. Vote for the change you want to see. Put people in charge who will do the work. Who will see it through. 🗳️👍 F
TRAFFIC? WHAT TRAFFIC? 🚗 To ease the traffic navigation system in Bengaluru for commuters, the traffic police have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with tech company Mappls MapmyIndia. 🤝 The Bengaluru Traffic Police is focusing more on management rather than enforcement intending to further ease the traffic scenario. 🚦 According to the report by The Hindu, the navigation app will help users find the quickest way possible to their destination by showing them a route with less traffic. It will also give real-time updates about traffic congestion, road closures, and other information about the condition of roads. This is expected to be an alternative to Google Maps, which is customised specially for Bengaluru commuters. 🗺️ “Through the MoU, the traffic police have gained access to better traffic monitoring systems and advanced algorithms, empowering them to make informed decisions and implement targeted interventions to alleviate traffic bottlenecks. Moreover, the app served as a platform for community engagement, allowing citizens to report traffic violations, potholes, and other road hazards in real-time. This is going to improve the traffic movement and management,” a senior officer said. 💡 Bengaluru traffic police also use AI-integrated cameras to track traffic violators in the city. 📹 Speaking at an event earlier, Karnataka deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, “Thousands of new vehicles come to the city every day, and managing traffic in Bengaluru is challenging. We are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to monitor vehicles' movements and act accordingly. We are joining hands with the BBMP in charting a plan for better management of traffic. The officials are also studying the traffic management systems of developed nations to implement similar strategies here.” 🚙🤖 If everyone uses routes that have less traffic, won’t there be more traffic on these alternate routes? 🤔 FOLLOW THE ARCHIVE FOR MORE! 📚 #thearchive

Democracy flourishes when every vote counts. Especially the lone vote of 44-year-old Sokhela Tayang from a remote village in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district. Malogam exists just one hill behind the China border where all the voters in the village except her are registered in other polling booths. 🏞️ In the spirit of ensuring free and fair elections, a team of Election Commission (EC) officials, trekked nearly 39kms on foot carrying the necessary equipment to the 52-Malogam Polling station present in the Arunachal-East Lok Sabha constituency; just so this single voter can cast her ballot on April 20 in Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha Polls 2024. 🚶♂️🗳️ “It is not always about numbers but it is to ensure that every citizen gets his or her voice heard. Sokela Tayang’s vote is a testament to our commitment to equality,” said the Chief Electoral Officer, Pawan Kumar Sain. 📣✨ The village is in the Hayuliang assembly seat where the contest will be between Bosiram Siram of the Congress party and Tapir Gao of the BJP. ⚖️🎯 Of the total 2,226 polling stations in the state, 228 could be reached only by foot. ALL OPINIONS MATTER? Our superstars finally commented on issues raging across the country! 😮 Shocked? Well, it’s not really true, per se. 🙃 It’s the age of deepfakes and the current elections in India are proving to be the perfect testing ground for this technology. 🎥👾 Tired of some of our leading public figures remaining mum about the various issues plaguing our population, people took matters into their own hands. ✊🏽🗣️ Deepfakes of actors Ranveer Singh and Aamir Khan were shared where they appear to be criticizing the current dispensation for economic and social issues. 🎭🔊 In a 42-second doctored video, Ranveer Singh is heard saying, "This is Modiji's purpose. He intended to celebrate our sad lives, our fear, our unemployment, and inflation. Because our India is now heading towards a time of injustice at such a pace... so we should never stop demanding our development and justice - this is why we must think and vote." The video concludes with him urging people to vote for the Congress. 🗣️🗳️ In another 27-second clip, that seems to have been edited using AI, Aamir Khan can be seen talking about staying away from rhetoric (jumla). The deepfake shows the actor in a scene from an old episode of his television show, 'Satyamev Jayate'. 📺🤖 The videos have been taken down and FIRs under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (419 (impersonation), 420 (cheating)) and other sections of the Information Technology Act have been filed. 🚔📄 While both Aamir and Ranveer’s videos received far more traction than either of their recent films did, this success cannot be attributed to them, but rather to AI’s shocking ability to replicate human voice and behavior. 🌟🤯 Since the election days are here and the battle gets more intense, we will likely see more such videos cropping up. So, stay aware and spread the message. Not everything you see on the internet is true particularly when it comes to your favorit
THE FUTURE IS NOW BETA Tesla cars might sound silent, however, their arrival in India seems to be louder than a drunk man screaming at a stop sign. 📢 Elon Musk is expected to visit India soon and announce a significant investment, possibly between $2 billion and $3 billion. 💰 This investment is likely going towards a new Tesla factory in India. 🏭 This “Will they, Won’t they” storyline between India and Elon began In March 2024, when India introduced a new EV policy offering reduced import tax (15%) for carmakers who invest a minimum of $500 million and set up local manufacturing. 🚗💼 Since then, however, sparks have been flying. Figuratively and not literally thankfully. ✨ Reports suggest Tesla has begun scouting for showroom locations in major Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Tesla's Berlin factory will likely produce right-hand drive models specifically for the Indian market. 🏙️🔍 All this being said the exact details of the agreement between India and Tesla are yet to be officially announced. It is also unclear if the final investment figure will be closer to $2 billion or $3 billion, or even higher as some reports suggest. 🤔📑 Unlike your X, Tesla Cars have always been sought after. Hopefully, this move will bring good fortune to India’s EV scenario. Pretty soon, we’ll no longer be going on long rides. We will be going on Elong ones. 🚘😉 #thearchivenews #india #elonmusknews #elon #teslamotors #EV #progress #fypシ #explorepage #usa
FISHING FOR POLITICS? 🐟🐟 The Katchatheevu Dispute is a longstanding territorial and fishing rights disagreement between India and Sri Lanka, primarily affecting Tamil Nadu fishermen. The island, located in the Palk Straits, was ceded by India to Sri Lanka in 1974 under Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's leadership. This move was met with vehement protests from Tamil Nadu, citing historical control and traditional fishing rights. 🏝️ The issue resurfaced in 1991 when then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa demanded the island's retrieval during her first Independence Day address. 🗣️ Despite the Indian government's consistent adherence to the agreement, political leaders in Tamil Nadu have continued to advocate for the island's integration. 🤝 The Sri Lankan Tamil ethnic conflict is also intertwined with this issue, with opposition to Indian trawlers in Sri Lankan waters primarily coming from Sri Lankan Tamil fisherfolk. However, in Tamil Nadu, the fishing rights issue is artificially linked to the Tamil-Sinhalese ethnic conflict. 🐟 In 2014, the Modi government informed the Supreme Court that the retrieval of Katchatheevu would necessitate a military confrontation. 💥 The Indian government has maintained that the island lies on the Sri Lankan side of the India-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line, and the matter is under consideration in the Supreme Court. ⚖️
In the past few days, Israel and Iran have engaged in direct conflict, marking a significant escalation in their long-standing animosity. This is the first time Iran has conducted a full-scale military attack on Israeli territory. The conflict began when Israel bombed the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1, killing multiple senior Iranian officials. ⚔️ On April 13, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel, marking the first direct attack by Iran on Israeli territory. The U.N. Security Council held an emergency meeting in response. The U.S., U.K., and Jordan intercepted over 100 Iranian drones, causing damage and injuring civilians. Iran warned of a harsher response if Israel retaliated. G7 leaders expressed full support for Israel and readiness to take further action. 🚀 The conflict has significant implications for India, particularly in energy security and economic stability. The Indian mission in Israel issued a fresh advisory for its nationals, advising them to stay calm and adhere to safety protocols. India called for immediate de-escalation, exercise of restraint, and return to the path of diplomacy. 🇮🇳 India heavily relies on Iran for oil, and any disruption in the region could impact India's energy supply, economy, and currency exchange rates. 💼 The escalating tensions could lead to higher crude oil prices, affecting India's economy and stock market. 💰 The conflict between Israel and Iran dates back to the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. Iran's Revolutionary Guards worked with fellow Shi'ite Muslims to set up Hezbollah, which Israel would eventually see as its most dangerous adversary on its borders. 📅 The conflict has escalated in recent months, following Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people. The ensuing war has claimed more than 33,700 lives, predominantly women and children. 😔 The world is now bracing for Israel's response, as global leaders scr

🐶 DMX once barked these bars ‘Hmm sh*t, the fact of the matter is, I trust dogs more than I trust humans’ 🎤 And it would seem the High Court of Karnataka shares that sentiment since they quashed a circular issued by the Central Government banning the import, breeding, and selling as pets of 23 breeds of dogs deemed "ferocious and dangerous". ⚖️ The High Court passed the order following a joint petition filed by a professional dog handler and the owner of a Rottweiler. 📜 On April 10, a single judge bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna ruled in the petitioner’s favour pointing out that none of the stakeholders were consulted as mandated by Delhi HC. The court said that the Central government could not have banned the dog breeds through a circular in the absence of any such power available under the provisions of the Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and the Animal Birth Control Rules. ⚖️ However, the court reserved the liberty to the Central Government to bring back the ban on certain breeds after making suitable amendments to the law after hearing from the stakeholders, including the Kennel Club of India. 🐾 “Stakeholders so consulted should include organizations that certify breeds of dogs and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) as well," the judge said. Further observing that "The responsibility of a pet owner goes beyond moral obligation; they should be held accountable for any treatment due to injuries caused by their dog, including a separate claim for damages. The court has reviewed the Dangerous Dogs Act of the UK and similar statutes," 🏛️ The now-scrapped circular issued urged all states and Union territories to prohibit 23 breeds of dogs deemed ‘ferocious’ and hazardous to human life and was issued after the central government’s assurance to the Delhi High Court in December 2023 to address the demand for a ban on licences for breeds categorised as dangerous. 🐾 #thearchivenews #india #karnataka #puppylove
The Supreme Court Of India rejected Baba Ramdev’s “unconditional” apology again. Regarding the misleading advertising case, this apology is from Baba Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurved MD Acharya Balkrishna. 🚫 With the energy of a teenage ex, the Supreme Court is saying “You’re only apologizing because you don’t know what to say” and with the maturity of an adult divorcee, the Supreme Court is saying “Don’t apologize to me, apologize to them.” Them is the public, btw. 🙄 In some strongly worded remarks, the court said the "apology on paper" was issued only because their "back is against the wall". This was regarding Patanjali Ayurveda apparently publishing misleading advertisements despite their undertaking to stop doing exactly that. 📝 The court asked the deceitful duo to be ready to face action in the contempt case. On Tuesday, Baba Ramdev, facing contempt proceedings, said he sincerely regretted the lapse and he wished to ensure that the same will not be repeated in the future. 😔 The Supreme Court posted the matter for further action against them on April 16. ⚖️ Patanjali Ayurveda, co-founded by Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, advertised herbal products claiming to treat serious diseases, which the Indian Medical Association alleged was a smear campaign against modern medicine. Despite promising not to violate laws related to advertising or branding, the company did. The Supreme Court initiated contempt proceedings and directed Ramdev and Balkrishna to appear personally after they failed to respond to the notice. ⚠️ For doing all that yoga, this man’s time is clearly not very flexible. 🧘♂️ #thearchivenews #india #BabaRamdev #patanjali #ayurvedalifestyle #healthylife #fypシ #explore #reelsvideo #sorry

SHOW ME THE MONNNEYY According to a report by The Indian Express, based on a Right to Information (RTI) application, SBI raised vouchers for commission for its bank charges and transaction fees, along with 18 percent goods and services tax (GST), for the electoral bonds. The electoral bonds were sold and redeemed in 30 phases between 2018 and 2024 before it was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Since the scheme's start, The SBI charged the Finance Ministry a total of Rs 10.68 crore as commission owed. The IE report also said that the highest amount of "commission" was taken during the ninth phase of electoral bonds, which took place just before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and a total of 4,607 bonds were sold during it. The SBI had charged ₹1.25 crore as commission. Most of the correspondence between the State Bank of India (SBI) and the Ministry of Finance on the electoral bonds scheme involved demands for “commission” owed to the bank. In one instance, then SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar wrote to then Economic Affairs Secretary S C Garg, highlighting unpaid dues amounting to Rs 77.43 lakh for seven phases of the scheme. In this communication, the SBI Chairman noted how the commission was being calculated. He wrote: “The claim for commission lodged by the bank is considered very reasonable, considering the complexities associated with the related IT developments… The claim is also in line with government commission rates. Collections: Rs 50 per transaction for physical collections and Rs 12 per transaction for online transactions. Payments: 5.5 paise per Rs 100…” Additionally, SBI provided details on the quantity and value of unredeemed electoral bonds sent to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund (PMRF) for each phase. SBI recommended printing more bonds to meet the expected demand before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and reiterated similar suggestions in January 2024, five weeks before the Supreme Court struck down the scheme, deeming
The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has warned users of multiple vulnerabilities in Android OS. According to them, Android 12, 12L, 13, and 14 are the versions affected. So that’s like all of the ones we use today. The advisory mentioned, "The successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities means the attackers obtain sensitive information, gain elevated privileges, and cause a denial-of-service condition on the target system.” Sensitive information is well, any information you don’t want to be public. Your info, stuff in your phone, that screenshot of the boy/girl/non-binary person your friend likes being problematic, yeah, all gone. Gain elevated privileges means they can do whatever they want with access to your phone. Denial of Service is when the attacker overwhelms your device with traffic (life on the road, amirite?) until the legitimate user (that’s you) can’t access it anymore. CERT-In also issued advisories for Google Chrome users. Meaning if you are using the current version on your Mac or PC, then you’re fine. They also mentioned that Firefox was having very similar security issues. As of November 2023, Android had a 95.22% market share in Mobile OS used in India, so this looming threat is not a small one. But don’t worry. CERT-In recommends that users ensure their smartphones are updated with the latest monthly security patches. These parches are to protect against known vulnerabilities. Google's Android Security Bulletin confirms that smartphones updated with the 5th March security patch level are protected from these security flaws. #TheArchive #android #Samsung #googlepixel #xiaomi #fypシ #explorepage #India #Warning
CAUTION! OUTBREAK! Bengaluru is witnessing another crisis as the city is hit by an outbreak of severe stomach ailments, including a few cases of cholera 😷. Several private hospitals in the city, typically reporting only one or two cases of cholera per month, have witnessed a significant increase to six or seven cases in less than a fortnight during March. Health experts attribute this spike in cholera cases to individuals contracting the infection after consuming food from small-scale eateries 🍲. Affected by the acute water scarcity, these establishments may have used compromised water quality, exacerbating the spread of the waterborne disease 💧. One confirmed case has been reported in the Malleshwaram area and the samples from two other suspected cases in the same locality have been sent for testing. Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Tushar Giri Nath was quoted by Business Standard: "We are identifying the source of contamination and all. There is no outbreak. We are taking all precautionary measures and will soon come out with an advisory.” 📋 The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that 1.3 to 4 million people around the world suffer from cholera each year and 21,000 to 143,000 people succumb to it. In case you’re worried, some preventive measures include ensuring that drinking water is adequately treated or boiled before drinking. Follow hygiene practices such as handwashing with soap and water, particularly before meals or cooking, and refrain from eating undercooked food and opt for cooked dishes. 🚰🧼🍴 #thearchive #cholera #bengaluru #bangalore #karnataka #watersafety #caution #water #fypシ #explorepage Stay safe and take the necessary precautions! 🛡️ Follow Us For More Updates! 📲
BRING THE HEAT 🔥 India is set to experience extreme heat 🌡️ from April to June, with the central and western peninsular parts expected to face the worst impact. On April 1, the IMD (India Meteorological Department) forecasted heatwave conditions in several states till April 5, also predicting longer heat waves this summer 🌞. IMD's Director General Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra said that Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha are going to experience heatwaves in April, May, and June. He said heat waves usually persist for 8-10 days but this time, it is expected to last longer than normal 🔥. The weather department has also predicted enhanced rainfall/thunderstorm activity over Northeast India till April 7 🌧️. Rainfall associated with pre-monsoon conditions is expected to be below normal over most regions; aridity and shortage of water will add to the overall increased heating forecast during the summer season this year. “We cannot attribute a single phenomenon to the prolonged heat wave spells. But during El Nino years, the number and intensity of heat waves remain higher than normal,” Mohapatra explained. The El Nino conditions — the abnormal warming of the sea surface recorded along the equatorial Pacific Ocean — had commenced last June. After peaking in December last year, El Nino conditions had begun to ease, but warm conditions continued to prevail and significantly drove up the global temperatures 🌍. El Nino conditions are known to suppress rainfall over India and increase temperatures, globally. Multiple global climate models have forecast that the ongoing El Nino conditions will wane off completely and be replaced by El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) neutral conditions by June when India’s southwest monsoon onset is realized 🌦️. Air India Flight IX -1344 enroute from Dubai overshot the runway at around 7:45PM today and crash landed in Kozhikode Airport. Most sources attribute the tragedy to the heavy rain in the vicinity, which reduced visibility. The airplane carrying 191 people onboard, has been said to have skid off the wet, tabletop runway into a valley, resulting in the Boeing 737 aircraft breaking into two pieces. Many casualties are reported to have been immediately shifted to nearby hospitals, including one pilot. The second pilot lost his life in the mishap. The exact number of deaths and casualties have not been confirmed yet since this is a developing story. Massive Explosion Shakes Lebanon’s Capital, Beirut. A massive explosion at Beirut’s Port ripped through the Lebanese capital today shattering windows and leaving hundreds of people wounded. Al Jazeera also reported that cars were thrown three floors above ground due to the impact of the blast. Although the origin of the explosion was initially believed to be a fire at a warehouse for firecrackers, as reported by the local state-run news source, the head of General Security, General Abbas Ibrahim claimed that the explosive material was confiscated years ago. The explosion comes at a very crucial time for Lebanon, currently going through an economic crisis and a few days away from the verdict in a trial over the assassination of ex-Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in 2005.
