They want to eliminate Nani Juwara!

The powerful Kairaba Avenue big boys are allegedly using cabinet ministers to eliminate Nani Juwara, the managing director at NAWEC, for not giving them some of the multi-million dalasi contracts.

The Minister of Finance Seedy Keita recently set up a task force to look into the financial affairs of NAWEC. They are desperately looking for something they can use to incriminate Nani and send him packing.

More than D300 million was allegedly stolen at the Gambia Ports Authority. Why didn't Seedy Keita set up a task force to investigate that one as well?

One Bai Madi Ceesay at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs has written to the Ministry of Petroleum that they want to know everything about NAWEC's power purchase agreements (PPAs), procurement contracts signed during the last three years, IT and consultancy contracts, detailed breakdown of revenue sources, cash flow forecast for the year 2023 and many more.

We are not saying NAWEC should not be investigated, but how can you ignore the missing millions at the Gambia Ports Authority and other public institutions and go after NAWEC? Common Sense!

We will bring you all the details about the kabudu that wants to eliminate Nani and how they would destroy NAWEC if we allow them to install their own managing director.

BREAKING: President Barrow Authorises the Suspension of License of Suspected Importer and Pharmacy

Following his address to the nation regarding the Acute Kidney Injury cases in The Gambia, President Barrow has authorised the Medicine Control Agency, through the Ministry of Health, to suspend the license of the suspected pharmacy and importer.

Additionally, President Barrow has directed the Foreign Minister to reach out to the Indian Ambassador to The Gambia for consultation on his government’s most profound concern over the issue.

As a further cause of action, the suspected pharmacy owner and importer of the drug syrups, as well as Senior Officials of the Medicine Control Agency, have been called for questioning by The Gambia Police Force to assist in their investigation.

The Barrow administration is also reviewing the entire drug and medical licensing regime to inform other causes of action.

Meanwhile, the President has assigned a high-powered delegation to meet the families affected by the AKI death cases, express his government’s condolences, and share their grief in these difficult times.

President Adama Barrow reassures the families and the public of his government’s commitment to do all it can to get to the bottom of the AKI death cases and possible remedies to avoid its recurrence.

Captain Essa Camara was a patriotic citizen who served his nation, The Gambia in his entire life. His effort was acknowledged by his colleagues in the army. He was a hardworking, committed and dedicated soldier.

Fondly known as Yellow Man, he was also an influential person who played a significant role in the lives of many youngsters in Brikama Gidda.

I would like to appeal to all Gambians to pray for Captain Camara and the family he left behind. May Allah forgive all his sins and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

Hello What’s On-Gambia,

Do we have serious media houses and journalists in The Gambia? I asked this question because of President Barrow's speech at the UN General Assembly.

What was expected of journalists was to analyze and critique the President's speech in relation to our national interest. But to my surprise, no one is talking about it. At this point, I bet President Barrow thinks he has done well.

However, in my opinion, I pointed out the following concerns, and I deem them serious:

~ First, the President used the UN platform to discredit Taiwan and showcase The Gambia's support for China's plan to occupy the territory of Taiwan. It was the wrong ground for a disadvantaged country like The Gambia to participate in such a debate.

Let's not forget that the US and other allies of Taiwan are among the major donors of The Gambia. Also, how does discrediting Taiwan benefit us as a nation? Honestly, I'm fine with the government supporting China, but one has to choose when and where to bring up such topics.

~ Second, terrorism! Yes, it is an issue of concern, but The Gambia talking about it while the affected countries are quiet over it is a miscalculated move. The President's speech writers should do better to understand the geopolitical nature of the globe and aline the speeches to the nation's interest.

Talking about terrorism without having what it takes to manage or control it could be dangerous. Let's participate in battles that we can win.

Finally, the media houses should do better to participate in events of this nature. The masses need to understand, in layman's terms, the image our government is selling abroad.

Sinchu Alagie Murder Suspect Arrested

The Gambia Police Force spokesperson, Cadet Assistant Superintendent Binta Njie-Jatta, has confirmed the arrest of the suspect of the alleged murder of a teenager in Sinchu Alagie.

"He was arrested in Jambang Jelly and currently at the police station helping the police in their investigations," she said.

A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in Sinchu Alagie two days ago.

The Gambia Police Force previously said the suspect was at large, prior to this development.
