Nogokpo is a town situated along the northernmost shore of Lake Volta in the Volta Region of Ghana. This town, located in a secluded area of the Volta Region, has a long and rich history. The town of Nogokpo was first established in the 17th century by the Eʋe people, and was originally called '3no ger kpoo" meaning will you stay on this land in peace due to the justice nature of the diety of the land. It is believed that the Eʋe people were driven from their homeland of Notsie in present-day Togo by a fierce famine, and eventually arrived in the Volta Region where they established the town of Nogokpo. In the mid-1800s, Nogokpo underwent a period of rapid development, as it became the regional hub for the growing cocoa and kolanut trade. The town grew quickly, and by the early 20th century it had attracted merchants from far and wide who sought to trade in the lucrative commodities. In the late 1940s, the town served as an important base for Ghanaian freedom fighters who sought to oppose British colonial rule, with the Volta Region playing a major role in the country’s eventual independence in 1957. Since independence, Nogokpo has grown significantly and is now a popular tourist destination, with its stunning lakefront views and unique cultural offerings. Its population has also grown significantly, with an estimated 8,000 people living in the town as of 2019. Today, Nogokpo continues to be an important center of trade and commerce in Ghana, and is also known for its vibrant cultural festivals and traditional drumming ceremonies. From its humble beginnings as a small fishing village centuries ago, Nogokpo has become an important part of Ghana’s history.
"Some things are just common sense"!!!
If Nogokpo is a demonic headquarters, humans will not live there and cars won't ply that road
When we hear of Nogokpo, a small town in the Volta region of Ghana, we immediately think of it being the demonic headquarters. While this may be the common belief, recent evidence suggests that this is far from the truth. The truth is that Nogokpo is a town with a long-standing history of its own, and the supernatural elements ascribed to it are part of a cultural narrative that predates Christianity. It is believed that the first inhabitants of this town worshiped a local deity, who was the source of their power and wellbeing. Despite the popular belief, humans do, in fact, live in Nogokpo, and cars ply the road. The people of this town live harmoniously together, supporting each other and engaging in daily activities that bring the community together. This, however, does not change the fact that certain parts of Nogokpo are off-limits to outsiders, particularly at night. There are reports of supernatural activity in these areas, and people living in the town refrain from visiting them after dark. Perhaps, the message here is simple – some things are just common sense. If Nogokpo is believed to be a demonic headquarters, it is always best to be safe rather than sorry. Humans should refrain from visiting it at night, and cars should definitely not ply that road after dark. This way, we can rest assured that any supernatural activity occurring in Nogokpo will stay far away from us.

Eʋe Land is very rich
A big thank you to those in the diaspora who are making sure our culture and history do not fade. This is Husago. It is a dance that commemorates the escape of our forefathers (Eʋes) from the ruler of Notsie (Torgbui Agorkorli).

Public Musical Fun
Urged To Listen To Under
The Coconut Tree Song

It is high time the public musical fun listen to the song titled "Under The Coconut Tree" being released to the market in the year 2022 by popular Ghanaian female artist and her group K.A.Hypercon Entertainment , Cynthia Cudjoe who is puporlarly known in the music industry as KorYoe.

Under the coconut tree is one of her song recorded to help minimise the rate at which teachers
impregnate young inexperience female students and vise versa for their lustful desires.

However KorYoe realized that this is one of the major problems affecting and also a contributory factor to teenage pregnancy in Africa and across the globe hence the reason she compose the song.

Speaking in an interview with K.A.HyperconEntertainment, KorYoe noted that her song addresses how a service teacher sent to the village to serve met this pretty young girl, took advantage of her innocence and left her stranded in the village with pregnancy for the city.

According to her, the song talk about how the girl struggled to find her way to the city years later and found him with another lady.

She stressed the lyrics of the song were so educative and noted that it "a song you must listen to and enjoy the creative nature of it.

General Public Urged
To Listen And Embrace
Kelewele Song By Dark Suburb

A sincere call by a well wisher has been made to the General Public to endeavour to listen and embrace the Kelewele song which has been composed by Dark Suburb, a ghetto based Ghanaian musical icon working with K.A.Hypercon Entertainment in Accra.

There are clear facts that the biggest Ghanaian band and Africa was a rock band called Osibisa not high life and if it doesn't say something about the potential of afro rock as a genre then critics and pandits need to pay attention. Dark Suburb is the newest and current band holding the justice lead and with support they can be the next big band from Africa and a worthy export but we are sleeping.

Kelewele is an afro rock song celebrating an African plantain dish and its ability to make other dishes of different tribes taste better.

The video goes to encourage mankind to trust in evolving their own culture in tolerance and acceptance of others and their ways and seek to make others better with it than to exploit them.

Dark suburb in this video introduced the super hero characters of the band and how they seek to fight injustice and its relatives from the slums they reside.

This single was nominated best African rock song in 2021 all Africa music awards. Let's hear your own interpretation of the deep music video.

The band is currently working on their next album Mali with which they intend to go on their first world tour with. this album kankan their leader believes can change the world "Insha Allah," he says.
Did you also know that this band took a rock album into the album of the year category of the all Africa music awards in 2017 without popularity against Afro beat giants like wizkid. I guess benefits of pure quality. let us as a people support their art and agenda.

Asogli Yam Festival returns after 3 years break

The popular Yam Festival (Te za) by the Chief and people of Asogli traditional area in the Ho Municipality is set to return this year, after a three year break.

The festival which was disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, was partially celebrated in 2019 without the usual euphoria and a grand durbar.

However, the 2022 celebration is set to return in full force, with the grand durbar slated for Saturday, September 10, 2022.

As part of preparations, the Asogli state Council has announced a one month ban on funerals within the traditional area, starting August 7, 2022 to September 11, 2022.

This was contained in a statement dated July 13, 2022 and issued by the secretary to the council, Stephen Tetteh.

It reads 'The Asogli State Council announces for information of the general public that it has commenced preparations for celebration of this year's Asogli State Te Zä (Yam Festival).

The Asogli State Council therefore announces that the customary ban on funerals in the entire Asogli State will take effect from Sunday, 7th August, 2022 and end on Sunday, 11th September, 2022.

The Agbogbomefia Togbe Afede XIV and his Chiefs appeal to the general public to co-operate with them by strictly observing the ban on funeral to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration.'

Activities for this year's festival will commence on Saturday, August 6, 2022 with hiking of Adaklu mountain.
