The Chairman of GJA Volta-Oti, Agbaxode Emmanuel joined the Association of Ghana Industries, AGI - Eastern/Volta/Oti at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

The AGM was held at the Afariwa Lodge in Worawora, Biakoye District of the Oti region.

Find below the key points of his presentation.

1. We're grateful for the invitation extended to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) in the region to be part of this all-important gathering.

Indeed, this is another demonstration of the existing strong ties between the Regional AGI and the GJA and for that matter, the media.

Ladies and gentlemen, Oti is a beautiful region with so much economic potentials and I am happy this Regional AGM is happening here, for you, captains of industry, to also explore opportunities here.

2. The theme is very much appropriate if Ghana can benefit from the ACFTA. No one business or organisation can single handedly win under the ACFTA programme. It requires both government and the private sector and indeed, all hands on deck.

3. All hands on deck means the media too has a role to play. That is why the GJA in the Volta and Oti Regions assures that its relationship with the AGI and businesses in the region will be further deepened to ensure a win for all situations.

4. We have done it before and again ready to do even more. As some of you may remember, we have always worked with the AGI to improve the lot of businesses in the two regions and also improve public support for these businesses. We have exposed a lot of areas that require government support in the past, we are ready to do more.

5. We, the GJA, have always known the importance of the AGI, in the development of country. Your members hold the key to creating jobs through building linkages from natural resources to entrepreneural facilities.
The GJA members will continue to dig out the opportunities and report them to catch your attention. Be it tourism, agribusiness, food processing etc.

6. We urge businesses not to fear the media but rather befriend us so that we can be of good help. We are aware some miscreants parade themselves as media men to dupe businesses and misrepresent journalists.
Our doors; here I am referring to the GJA, are open to you.

7. Always reach out to us so we can recommend the right people to work with for good value. I will end here and pray that the Good Lord will make this gathering and activities fruitful.

Long Live GJA Volta/Oti, Long Live AGI (Eastern/Volta/Oti) and Long Live Ghana.

Thank you.
