What's in the name? Well we love that at Fox den you can get hidden away from the world but right in the middle of the city. It's a cozy calm space that will facilitate creative risk, new ideas and much more. And you get all of that without having to retreat up a mountain to live with monks!

Pedals
Who knows a guitarist who doesn't like pedals? Well they're wrong, we all love pedals and we particularly love our slightly weird and whacky delays. Not only do they sound incredible but they also look fantastic. We all know that half the tone is in the paint job

Meet our Producers.
Matt has been around Foxden for several years, he's been around since he finished studying music at the University of Sheffield. You can find him gigging with Dreamflower Collective, in the studio he loves songwriting and arranging with his multi instrumentalist skills. Away from music Matt spends most of his time in his allotment with his wife Hannah.

We love to thud!
This Audix is a firm favourite for kick drums. It's amazing for modern tones and big ol' punch. The secret is really that we use it on floor tom aswell! For massive tom tones.

Microphones!
We want to spotlight some of our favourite vintage and unusual microphones. There's a rumour that our Reslo was used to record the Beatles and we don't even know who's sung into our m160. What we do know is that they all sound amazing and add tonnes of character and vibe to recordings.

We love what we do at Foxden and we have a passion for facilitating artists and musicians to put their artistic vision into real life.

Songs and music give shape to the parts of us that are inexpressible, whether it's exuberant joy or deep dissatisfaction. We have the privilege of making music to do this.

We've got a whole host of keyboards available at foxden. From wild and whacky synths to vintage organs and pianos, these instruments sound fantastic. Even better our producers know these keyboards inside out and will be able to find exactly what you're looking for.

One of our favourite spaces at Foxden is our large booth. Big enough to get drums in and completely isolated from the outside world we love the clean tones that we can mould and shape into anything we want!

We know that the beginning of a great record is a great song, so we've set up one of our rooms to serve all the writers, with comfy sofas a cozy vibe and our U3 there's plenty to get the creative juices flowing (just check out that mural). Even better we can still track from the writing room allowing for an extremely quick workflow.

We've got some pretty serious instruments here
one of our favourites is this tele, a serious workhorse that is our go to for all of our electric guitar needs. It looks as good in real life but big thanks to Josh our photographer for making everything look so good!

We've invested in some serious microphones
Combined with our BAE 312 and our Vocal Booth this U87 makes everything sound amazing! We've been using it on everything and anything and never got a result that we weren't happy with.

The newest addition to our long list of exceptional instruments is this beautiful U3. An classic upright piano heard on countless records we love ours for it's versatility of tone and fantastic playability. We're not gonna lie, it was very difficult to get in to the room but it was certainly worth all of the stress that it induced in Matt.

We've made a little cubby hole coffee spot on the mezzanine of the studio. Just so that you can check in on Matt to make sure he's doing everything you told him to.
Be careful not to fall off though!

We love buttons! and we've learnt what all of them do so that you don't have to. This is our Tascam m-216 from the 1980s, modded for our studio to add some vintage, analogue sauce to any audio source (see what we did there?)

We've spent the last few months refining out collective of instruments down to our very favourite pieces. We've then set them to look georgeous, all to make a creative and hospitable place for people to come and make music.

We've got some fancy new gear, We've also got some fancy old gear. This beyerdynamic M160 is from the 1960s and is one of the most ubiquitous studio mics ever made. Our one even comes with a little dent for extra authenticity.

We've got a bunch of shiny new gear.
We love these OC818's by Austrian Audio think C414 but on steroids, we've used them on everything from banjo's to pianos and drum overheards.

Matt's even been known to take these outside to record the river Rivelin, the mics didn't get wet even if he did!

Founded in 2014, Fox Den had recently undergone a renovation by Chris G Wilkinson, Grammy winning Engineer, Producer Mixer and former Chief Engineer of House of Blues Studios, Nashville.
