I'm over the moon to announce that I have a new album coming out at the end of May and pre-orders are now open. The music on this album began as a commission for the National Galleries of Scotland, celebrating over eighty years of live music programming at the Gallery and the opening of the new Scottish Galleries, home to the vast collection of artworks by Scottish painters, a selection of which both inspired and are in conversation with the music on this record. Each track on the album is based on a particular painting and draws on the mythology, language, history, culture and landscapes that originally set the scene for these artworks.

I'm delighted to be working with Hudson Records (who have released several of our Furrow Collective albums) on this album. Having self-released all my previous solo work, it's so nice to be working with a supportive team of friends to get the music out there.

The album is available as a C.D art book, with each beautiful artwork featured alongside the music to give context. It's also available in vinyl, which is a first for my solo work and I'm so excited about that. You can check out all the available options, including a superfan bundle, at the Hudson Records store.

Was a real pleasure to master Dave Boothroyd’s mixes of the new Chris Helme album. It’s a really ambitious album full great songs and production with some wonderful orchestration from John Hargreaves knitting it all together.

You have heard Ben Nicholls even if you don’t know you have! One of the countries finest double bass players. His album features Nadine Shah, Seth Lakeman, Martin Simpson and loads of other great players.

And finally, speaking of Martin Simpson, he has a new album coming soon on Topic Records. The lead single Skydancers is available now.
