Testing my magic bowl 😂
It's an old dog bowl that's held odd screws for years. Emptied and a magnet from a broken magmount glued inside. Obviously it'll be mostly used as a bucket to hold screws etc as I take things to pieces but this was more fun for a video 🤣
Rather beautiful Eddystone 730/4. Just a quick look. It's for sale, so if you're interested get in before it's advertised fully 🙏
QSO with G6AD on 40m with the ole girl Sommerkamp FT277ZD. I think she may indeed be a keeper.
Just checking she works 💪
Kenwood Ts430. The first model of HF radio I had many moons ago! II6WRTC
Testing the loaded 9:1 vertical today. Usable 80m to 6m with an Atu!
Testing the 9:1 coiled tube antenna with a 1.8m whip.
Merry Christmas everyone, I'd like to take the opportunity to reflect on the past year in radio.
For me it's been a very eventful time. We continued with the operators net, kept NC busy, activated summits and parks. I made my first ever qso as gw5xdx 😂. I tried numerous antenna builds, possibly inventing the Starfighter 😁🙄 not to mention organising the hugely successful CABO21 event. I have continued to learn morse code. I have attended CRAC events and have done my best to promote the mid Cornwall repeater group. Built my little workshop! Started the shareshack scheme and helped many new and existing stations. I'm so grateful for everyone's generosity 🙏
I've also had more radios and equipment come through the shack than I can keep track of 😂
Of course the greatest task is the recent decision to establish ROC as an official club... This will hopefully be something that propels everything else so that this time next year I reflect upon 2022 as the year of ROC and lots of activities!
In closing, not a single thing mentioned above could have happened without the support, engagement or generosity of others. In the past year I've made many new friends and existing friendships have been strengthened. I wish you all the very best for the time ahead over Xmas, New year and beyond.
And lastly but most importantly, my eternal love and gratitude for the support of my wife and of course Demelza for trying to open NC when I'm not around 😂
