A love of wild swimming in St Ives Bay is the inspiration behind Heather McAlpine’s first solo exhibition at the Crypt Gallery in Norway Square, which is appropriately titled Immerse. Her semi-abstract, dream-like paintings capture the colours of the sea and shore at some of her favourite beaches, including Porthmeor, Porthgwidden, Gwithan – and “a secret cove”. The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 5pm until this Friday, 17th May. St Ives Society of Artists
