Bank Holiday lunch at the The Hut, Colwell Bay 🍽️ 🌊

A quintessential "seafood by the seaside" restaurant. We went for the Lemon Sole, served with Beurre Noisette, Capers, and a wedge of lemon. The meat was tender with a crispy, buttery skin.

Opted for french fries on the side to soak up that rich Beurre Noisette (caramelised butter) sauce, and washed it down with a suitably zesty Thai Lemonade.

Wight Whisky, the first independent whisky distillery on the Isle of Wight, has announced the details surrounding their inaugural product.

The whisky, coined the Signature Malt Blend, promises to have the distillery's single malt whisky at the heart of the product, bringing a great degree of complexity and character to every bottle. The combination of light oak and dried fruit flavour results in "a smooth and creamy honeyed finish".

Check out our post for more information on Wight Whisky's Signature Malt Blend and some cocktail recipes.

📍 Hewitt's Restaurant & Rooms

Sunday lunch at Hewitt's, an airy, modern restaurant situated in a historic, 16th-century townhouse in the heart of Newport.

Highly regarded for their Sunday Roasts, we thought we'd try the lot with their Hewitt's Feast, a large sharing plate for 2 (or more), consisting of a selection of their meats, all the sides and plenty of gravy. You certainly won't leave with an appetite!

Their carefully curated wine list and cocktail offerings ensure you won't leave thirsty either. 🍸
