Some very sad news re an old Tull friend of many years, Gerrit De Geus, who many of you knew well. From his friend Jan:
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Jan Werkhoven and I am a very good friend of Gerrit de Geus. Unfortunately, I have very unpleasant news, Gerrit passed away in his sleep last Friday, May 24. I was approached by Gerrit's wife Nettie with the request if I could tell his best Jethro Tull friends this sad news. In the last six months his illness (COPD) hindered him in all daily activities and he could hardly speak anymore due to lack of oxygen. Last Friday Gerrit was released from that suffering in his sleep, so he didn't notice anything. What a pity that he only lived to be 72 years old!! So to use Ian's words again; Too old to Rock 'n' Roll; Too young to die!
