Rémi Thirion took a well-deserved fifth place, his first podium since Maribor 2020. Thirion raced his first World Cup in Champéry, Switzerland, in 2007, where he finished tenth overall at just 17 years old. His skills and unique line choice have always been a delight to watch and he excels when the going gets tech - Loudenvielle was right up his street - Hurly Burly 2023.

One of the off-season moves saw Mille Johnset join the Commencal/100% team, and she appeared to be getting ever more comfortable on her new steed. The Norwegian backed up her strong performance in Leogang with another eighth place in Lenzerheide - Hurly Burly 2022.

Reigning junior World Champ Kade Edwards taking it to 11 on the big hip-jump at the start of the Snowshoe course. In his first year in elite, Edwards took a few races to find his rhythm, but he twice finished inside the top-20 nonetheless. Edwards' talent is never-ending - Hurly Burly 2019.

Greg Minnaar started with the number five race plate, finished fourth and left as number three. It was evident the South African was on an upward trajectory - and when Minnaar is feeling it, you better watch out. Setting a blistering pace in the upper sections of the course, Loris Vergier continued the form of his second-place qualifier to lay down a time good enough for the hot seat with only one man to go. Gwin couldn't match Vergier's speed in the early part of his run, failing to get even within a second of his split times, but he hit hyper speed in the lower sections to somehow win by three seconds - The Hurly Burly 2016.

Following on from her injury from Scotland, Rachel Atherton struggled with the harsh compression and steep sections that put weight through her arms and shoulders. Settling with a solid fourth place showed she was down, but certainly not out - Hurly Burly 2017.

In qualifying, Loic Bruni went full tomahawk over the hip jump onto the motorway, smashing his helmet and earning a pair of black eyes worthy of a cage fighter. Even still, he got back on the horse the next day and claimed valuable points from an eighth place - Hurly Burly 2019.

Finn Iles pushing to the limit. The Canadian showed blistering speed at every race of the season but often couldn't quite hold it together in race runs. Iles was absolutely on-pace in Vallnord but struggled to put a run together - he was second in timed training, second until a crash in qualifying and crashed out early in his finals run - Hurly Burly 2019.
