Repair cafes are pop up events held on regular dates where the local community can get their broken household items repaired for free by volunteers. It’s a social way to combat the general frustration with wasted materials, resources and a loss of skills.

The types of things we fix include clothes, household electrics, technology, woodwork, children’s toys, furniture, bikes etc
Chepstow Repair Cafe has been running since the spring of this year and is held on the first Saturday of every month in the cafe at Monmouthshire Upcycle.

The Repair Cafe Volunteer numbers have grown and they would like to see more items brought along each month. I am very happy to provide copy and photos if you are able to use them. Please let me know what you need.
Their page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/Chepstowsrepaircafe

We aim to reduce landfill by repairing your household items for free. Repair, reuse, recycle!

Chepstow 41 Active club get ‘active’ to raise £4000 for Prostate Cancer Charity!

On Saturday, 18th May, the local Chepstow 41 Active club and many friends and supporters gathered at Mountain Brook Lodge, Pwllmeyric to raise money for a very important cause – Prostate Cancer UK. This charity, close to our members hearts, is doing incredible work and the club felt they could get ‘active’ and raise some much-needed funds. The charity ball, with dinner, raffle, silent auction, games and entertainment was a great success, raising £4000 for the charity and providing a fun event, expertly hosted by Charlotte, Penny and team at the lodge. Club members said how grateful they were for the support and generosity received for the event, including kind donations from Ian Webb Engineering, C&I Controls, Inside Out Developments Ltd, TOPAZ Detailing Bristol, Herman Miller and Stuart Dent. The club hopes to run further fund-raising events for this crucially important charity in the future alongside their regular support for the local community. The 41 Active club forms part of the Chepstow Round Table Family, a local community group whose members work within the local area to raise money for worthy causes. The membership is still raising money, on 23rd June, the group’s past chairman Stuart Dent is racing 100 Miles across the Brecon Beacons on his bike to raise money for Prostate Cancer. Stuart welcomes any donations using the link below:
