Off Kilter Enhancement is TWENTY FIVE years old this year.
FUUUUUUCK
We finished writing it in January of 1999, recorded it in March, and it was released in July 1999.

We re-issued OKE on vinyl during the COVID times. It's still available via our Big Cartel store. PIck up a copy if you like vinyl and like OKE.

How goes it? Karl here.

This isn’t an earthtone9 post but I figured I’d share it here anyway.

Some of you will be aware that I’ve worked in popular music education for a decade and a half, and ran a music college in Detroit from 2014 to 2019. During this time I regularly worked with undergraduate students on Performance, Songwriting and Entrepreneurship programs.

I did individual and group/band work - mentoring and facilitating, enabling people to set and achieve goals, make mindset adjustments and accelerate their professional and creative growth.

If you’re a musician, a creative practitioner, or a band and feel like you’re plateauing at the moment, or that the COVID era has reduced your motivation and/or output, I can help you.

The initial work usually involves between 6 and 10 sessions of 45 minutes, either on Zoom or in person.

Good evening one and all!

Look at this lovely face, it's the face of the man who engineered & produced two thirds of Lo-Def and three thirds of Off Kilter Enhancement.

All hail the one and only Dave Chang.

I'm 72% sure that this polaroid was taken in the control room of Philia Studio in Henley-on-Thames, I can't remember if it was '97 or '99 though. Not that any of that matters very much.

What is important is how chuffed Dave was that I'd interrupted him. Fortunately for me his superpowers were (and probably still are) patience and understatement.
