Our Story

TLC offers writers at all stages of their professional development straightforward, honest editorial advice. We pioneered the editorial consultancy model as the first company to offer professional manuscript assessment in 1996, and still use the same model today with a team of 90 expert readers reading and assessing the writing we receive from our clients to offer in-depth advice on how best to proceed in terms of developing, improving, re-drafting, and finding readerships for their work. We pride ourselves in giving honest feedback that is tailored to the needs and talents of each of our writers, and offer assessment and mentoring for writers working on fiction, non-fiction, poetry, short stories, scripts, and screenplays. TLC was established in 1996 and is an Arts Council England NPO (National Portfolio Organisation).
