Incredible night at the CryptoMondays London event hosted at Google Corporate HQ's "Townhall" at 1 St. Giles High Street in London!

Great to catch up with Head Organiser Kaitlin Argeaux and guest James Bowater from The Digital Commonwealth and meeting Nick Almond, CEO of Factory Labs, who brought valuable insights to the "The Way of Dao" panel.

My takeaway: as we face "The Way of CBDC," we'll likely see more "parallel encrypted universes" emerge as DAOs, functioning like autonomous nation-states alongside traditional systems, designed for the "Rebel Fighters".

Huge thanks to the legendary Larry Trachtenberg (pictured) for the invite. A true visionary and consummate professional.

For those unfamiliar, CryptoMondays is a decentralised global community passionate about crypto's world-changing potential.

CryptoMondays London, established in 2018, offers a welcoming space for all, regardless of crypto expertise.

They host monthly meetups across London, delivering FREE, high-quality content and networking opportunities. These gatherings attract a diverse crowd - from investors and developers to CEOs, traders, traditional finance pros, artists, newcomers, and industry experts.

Like they said about ten years ago, "all businesses are now tech businesses". Once we get to mass adoption and the "wiring" becomes invisible, "all businesses will be crypto businesses". Watch this space.

In March 2024, Richard Alan Webb, allegedly a "Lone Wolf", stands trial in Salisbury Crown Court.

The call for the Financial Body that enabled him to also stand trial rather than being left off Scot-free.

The PR Industry Must Evolve or Face Irrelevance

By Richard J. Hillgrove VI MA FRSA

I’ve made some very bold claims about the PR industry in the past, and it got me in hot water. But I’m back now, rehabilitated, and I have an important message: it’s time for PR to wake up.

The industry loves to pat itself on the back with awards shows and inflated billings. But we’re ignoring the massive changes happening around us that require a fundamental shift in our role.

The walls between PR and other marketing functions are collapsing rapidly. New technologies are changing how audiences consume information and how media organisations deliver content. Everything is evolving except PR's mindset.

We risk becoming complacent and irrelevant if we don’t take action. Now is the time for PR to step up, take the lead, and integrate the disparate marcomms strands.

But many PR agencies are stuck in the past, relying on antiquated strategies focused on outputs like press releases and publicity stunts. They continue naval gazing instead of looking outward at the radical shifts in the media landscape.

This head-in-the-sand approach will no longer cut it. Digital has disrupted media, and new tools allow anyone to be a creator and broadcaster. Audiences are fragmented across platforms. The old PR playbook doesn’t work anymore.

PR needs to wake up to this new reality. We should be trailblazers in integrating content, social, web, advertising and more to engage audiences on their terms. We can’t afford to be left behind as marketing evolves.

The industry I love desperately needs new blood and fresh thinking. Let’s stop the navel-gazing and take up the mantle of change. Evolve or fade away into irrelevance – the choice is ours.

Today, PM Rishi Sunak visited Leigh-on-Sea, Essex as a guest of Anna Firth MP. Richard Hillgrove discussed The Sir David Amess Children's Parliament with the Prime Minister. The UK Children's Parliament for primary school children co-founders include Richard Hillgrove, Andrew Fox and the late Sir David Amess. Anna Firth MP is the Parliamentary Champion and joined by Baroness Uddin. Now in its 3rd year, this programme teaches critical thinking and parliamentary skills to primary students, carrying on Sir David's legacy of engaging youth in civic participation from an early age. Sir David was so passionate about politics that he started his own Revolutionary Party at just 11 years old! It's wonderful to see the next generation following in his footsteps thanks to the Children's Parliament.
