We’re starting the week by sharing one of our favourite LPs with you - the name of this one says it all.

Dettmann is the debut long player of Berghain’s resident DJ, producer and remixer MARCEL DETTMANN – and what an album it is. Intrinsically tied to the myth that is Berghain by now, the attached label Ostgun Ton and at the same time with the regeneration of no-frill, cleansed and powerful electronic music, Marcel Dettmann managed a daring feat: the production of a truly absorbing and veritable techno album.

— throwing it back to the legendary days of disco at The Paradise Garage in NYC circa 1980 🪩🗽

The Paradise Garage was an iconic nightclub located in New York City that operated from 1977 to 1987. The club was known for its music and dance culture, particularly in the underground gay & African American communities, and was renowned for its innovative sound system which produced a crystal-clear sound quality that was unmatched by any other nightclub of its time.

The Garage was also famous for its resident DJ, Larry Levan, who was known for his unique mixing style and ability to seamlessly blend different genres of music. It was a hub for the emerging disco, house, and electronic music scenes, and its influence can still be felt today. Despite being closed for over three decades, the club's legacy lives on as a cultural touchstone for generations of music fans and DJs alike.

This week we wanted to share one of our favourite LP’s. After highlighting Jeff Mills in our series last week, we thought it would be fitting to share some of his amazing work with you.

‘The Occurence’ demonstrates Jeff’s sci-fi techno wizardry, and will take you on a cosmic, spaced out journey full of analog bleeps and minimal workouts.

Welcome Ada Stawiarz to the e•SOUNDS roster 👋

Ada Stawiarz is a rising techno artist from Wrocław, Poland, who has a deep connection with the dancefloor.

As a DJ she circles between dark numbers, hypnotic sound, and raw reverberation, whilst always aiming to entice ravers and push boundaries with continuous progression in her sets.

She has honed her craft, playing at cutting edge underground clubs in Poland such as Transformator, CEL, Smolna, Sfinks700, Wyspa Tamka, Ciało, as well as the legendary Das Lokal and is now looking to bring her energy to techno institutions in the rest of Europe.

MONUMENT 308 : KONTINUM

Cinematic, sprawling soundscapes await to take the listener on a journey in Kontinum's MNMT 308 podcast.

Kontinuum has developed an unique deep style of techno inspired by the hypnotic sounds of the Leipzig techno scene. In 2017 Kontinum co-founded the collective Nebula and has released on labels such as Controlled Violence, Lowless and Agos, establishing a distinctive and percussive sound of dark techno that's clearly his own.

With a label starting up in 2022 that is planning to put out six releases per year, as well as a debut album on TGP coming out in the next weeks, Kontinum is becoming a force to be reckoned with in the modern deep techno scene.
MNMT 308 is a two hour odyssey that takes you on a journey from dubbed-out murky depths to sleek dancefloor cuts. Ending with an unexpected melodic touch, MNMT 308 is perfectly suited for both headphones and the dancefloor.
