*I will Be Unfair To God And Man If I Blame Tinubu For Nigerian’s Economic Hardship – Sanusi Lamido*
_*• Says Nigeria Was Living On Fake Lifestyle With Huge Debt From Foreign And Domestic Debts Since 2012*_
_*• Says Tinubu's Decision To Remove Subsidy And Unify Exchange Rate Was Nigeria Only Surviving Strategy, No Borrowing To Run Government Any More*_

Former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, said it would be unfair for him to criticise President Bola Tinubu over the country’s economic hardship.

Mr Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), speaking during a virtual religious event on Sunday, said Nigerians who expected him to speak about the economic hardship deliberately wanted him to oppose the president.

He explained that he had to deviate from the religious theme of the event to remind Nigerians about his stands on the badly managed economic policies of the immediate past administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the Buhari administration ignored his advice on how to take Nigeria out of its economic woes.

Mr Sanusi said economists with a fair sense of reasoning know that the current administration has made the right decision (fuel subsidy removal) to save Nigeria from the bo***ge of debts dug by the past administration.

“I have been, over the years, talking about the pending crisis ahead of the current economic hardship. Any economist who has studied monetary policy in the last eight years knows that Nigerians will fall into this difficult situation.

“The difficult situation Nigerians are facing is just the beginning (if the right decision is not put in place) because Nigeria is not exceptional; such situations happened in Germany, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Venezuela.

“The previous administration turned adamant about our appeal for corrective measures (on the economic policy). I have said in the presence of the now sitting president in Kaduna state, any politician who tells you that things will be easy, don’t vote for him because he is lying. People merely dismissed my advisory as a political statement.

“If I am to be fair and just to President Bola Tinubu, he is not to blame for the current hardship; for eight years, we were living on a fake lifestyle with huge debt from foreign and domestic debts. The Central Bank of Nigeria owes over N30 trillion, which resulted in debt service surpassing 100 per cent.

“I can’t join other Nigerians criticising Tinubu on the current economic hardship, and I am not saying he is a saint free from wrongdoing, but in this current economic situation, President Tinubu is not to be blamed. I will also speak if I see any wrong economic policy of the Tinubu administration in the future.

“It’s injustice for anyone to blame the Tinubu administration for the current economic hardship because there is no other alternative than the removal of the fuel subsidy. After all, Nigeria cannot even afford to pay the subsidy.

“(In the last eight years), the Central Bank continues to print more money, and the Naira continue to depreciate. There is too much naira in circulation because the CBN is printing the currency without restraint.

“The economy was poorly managed, and they are not willing to take advice; in the last eight years, apart from sycophancy, nothing has been done; those sycophants are those buying the dollar at the rate of N400 and selling it at the rate of N600 to N700.

“A boy who has no record of service has a private jet and owns houses in Dubai and England just because he is buying Dollar at so so a rate and selling them, Mr Sanusi said.

He said everything in Nigeria in the last eight years is done on debt, lamenting that no country will survive in that economic policy.

“I can only plead with the people to endure the hardship, and those who have the means to help the downtrodden should do so.

“I am also pleading with commoners to live according to their earnings; we must not peg our lives above our earnings in this difficult situation where people are looking for what to eat, the former Kano Emir said.

*Lessons of UK Gen Elections For Nigeria*

A momentous Election free of Rancour, Rigging or Violence has seen UK Elect a New Labour Govt into power with a Massive Super Majority despite only winning 35% of the Votes.

After 14yrs of Tory Conservative Govt and Persistent Infighting amongst Conservatives Govt the British Electorate has said it's time for change & ushered in a New Labour Govt.

This is very reminiscent to how APC came to power in 2015 after 16yrs of PDP Govt which bowed out after Factional Infighting.

Insecurity & Economic woes of the PMB years like the economic Turmoil in UK meant the PDP was on course to win the 2023 Pres Elections all things being equal.

But like the Conservatives splintered itself, Nigel Farage a Former Conservative contested under the Reform Party in Nigeria Former PDPians splintered PDP Votes with Peter Obi joining LP & Kwankwaso joining NNPP

The smaller parties won their largest proportion of the votes, but in a first past the post system their share of the votes are not reflected in the number of Parliamentary Seats. There is hope for Nigeria if our new Parties can build on their 2023 performance, Develop Nationwide grassroot support & tap into the real yearnings of the masses.

The biggest lesson for Nigerian politicians is divided Parties always defeat themselves. I wish both LP & PDP as well as APC will learn from this as they have ongoing Crises as we speak in many states. LP is in Turmoil at National Level & PDP is still Comatose.

Rishi Sunak is the only Conservative leader in the past 14yrs to win his Electoral Seat. Johnson, May, Truss & even Margaret Thatchers Finchley Seats have all been lost .

Having lead the Conservatives to their worst electoral defeat in history, Rishi Sunak conceded defeat in the early hours of the morning like GEJ in 2015. A gesture the likes of Trump, Atiku & Obi were incapable of doing even after losing at the Supreme Court. Some still extolling the virtues of their Debunked Phantom Stolen Mandates.

Starmer " _An Election of Change & Renewed Hope,_ " he also says it will be difficult & challenging to right the wrongs of 14yrs of Tory Misgovernance. The New Labour Govt will have yo make very difficult decisions with balloning state debt and less resources. Sounds familiar lol

Nigel Farage's Reform party came from nowhere like Peter Obi's Labour Party to shock the Conservatives winning only 4 seats with over 20% of the Votes. Coming third with loud noise but very little in terms of Representation. The low number of Labour Party Legislators in our National Assembly & it's inability to win more than one state despite its large number of votes is evidence of the gap between New last minute Parties and Established Parties. A lot of lessons to be learned and a lot of work to be done

The effect of Reform was to take huge Votes away from Conservatives, just like our Labour Party & NNPP took Votes away from PDP. This was an Election the Conservatives lost, just like the 2023 Elections was one that PDP lost

Labour won a historic landslide victory of over 410 seats in parliament with just 35% of the Votes the lowest share of the Votes for any Govt meaning majority of UK Electorate like Majority of Nigerian Electorate did not vote for the Ruling Party.

This does not invalidate Labours Victory just as Pres Tinubu's APC Mandate is Valid despite not winning the majority of the Votes. Even Donald Trumpndidnt win a Majorityof the votes in 2016.

Democracy is in Danger all over the world from extremist Parties but in the UK the status quo of the 2 main Parties is largely intact due to the first past the post Electoral syatem, though smalletlr parties made great strides.

Lim Dem won 71 votes the largest in their history.. SNP the Scottish Independence party crashed to their worst results in recent times losing massively to Labour in Scotland. That means Scottish Independence like our own Sepratist Agitatirs will be on the back burner.

With proportional representation things will change forever. The current system doesn't truly reflect the voting preferences of the Electorate and may explain why many voters are disillusioned & also explain the low Turnout of just of 50% of the Electorate. Nigeria is not the only country will falling Voter Turnout.

Rishi Sunak announced the Elections in the rain it is raining buckets in London he will announce his Exit from Downing Street in the rain again I hope he uses an Umbrella this time. lol 😃😀😂

If Pres Tinubu's APC Govt doesn't turn things around dramatically by 2027 and the opposition isn't splinteted will we see a landslide defeat for APC, only time will tell.

What's your view? Please share thanks

Politics UK Facts :

Kier Starmer is the 7th Labour Party Prime Minister in UK Political History.

57 people (54 men and 3 women) have served as prime minister, the first of whom was Robert Walpole taking office on 3 April 1721.

The longest-serving prime minister was also Walpole, who served over 20 years, and the shortest-serving was Liz Truss, who served for seven weeks.

This time around, the post Covid economy and Liz Truss's 49-day chaos in the British economy will be blamed on the Conservative party and their policies, and a landslide is clearly on the horizon

The feeling is that the cost of living crises did not affect the Tories as most of them are landlords and Business owners who did not really feel the pinch felt by the common man.

This election will be won and lost on three issues: the NHS, Immigration and the Economy, of which the perception is that the Conservatives failed on all three issues.

The facts are out there; the NHS has seen unprecedented high numbers on the waiting list for operations and long appointment times.

The Brits always frown on high immigration figures as it is perceived to reflect negatively impact on the ability to provide public services such as the NHS, etc.

Then, the cost of living and inflation, sky rocketing due to the policies of former PM Liz Truss, who is a Consertive, was the final nail in the Tory party coffin.

So, many will be engaging in protest votes, which will see the Conservative Party loose votes massively to Labour and the Reform Party.

The Reform Party is big on immigration led by Nigel Farage.

The Lib Dems will also win more seats from protest voters who want to vote for any other party but the Conservatives and Labour Party.

The truth is that the Brits were not prepared for the sudden hardship and sudden extreme high cost of living which in reality was mostly down to Covid, the war in Ukraine and the terrible policies by the 49 day PM Liz Truss; which sent the Pound Sterling plummeting to arguably its lowest ever rate against the dollar in history.

So it's time for the electorate to get their own back.

The Brits, being a politically literate electorate, are unforgiving of bad governance.

So, the exit polls will certainly be correct once again in relation to the 2019 election results.

It is most likely to be Victory for the "CHANGE" CAMPAIGN.
Victory for Kier Starmer and The Labour Party.

Nze Duru: Meet the brain behind Pension reform, GENCOS, DISCOS, others in Obasanjo

Nze Chidi Duru is a lawyer and notary public. His profile is a remarkable record of business accomplishments defined by a zealous pioneering spirit, especially in uncharted territories, and political achievements underscored by a commitment to public trust and unbridled transparency pivoted on acts of charity to not only the less privileged, but, indeed, to any man or woman of any tribe, religion or social economic class requiring his support.
A product of Santana Boarding School, Awo- Omamma, Imo State, signs of the distinguished Nigerian Nze Duru will turn out to become later in life were first recorded in the 1989/1990 national service year when he won the NYSC State Honours Award as the Best Corps Member in Ogun State. He would, thereafter, go on to win the highly coveted National NYSC Honours Award in the same year. About 10 years afterward, he was nominated by the British Government as one of the 14 Outstanding Leaders in the Africa Future Leaders pilot programme of 2000/01

Nze Duru, who is also the Acharaugo of Nkpologwu in Anambra State, is respected among peers and followers for insisting on ethical behavior in the political space. His ethics guided political conduct and comportment as a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives between 1999 and 2007, when he represented the good people of Aguata Federal Constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and facilitated critical initiatives in the transformation of Nigeria’s economic space to contemporary standards.

One such initiative was the unlocking of the latent assets base of the contributory pension scheme as Chairman of the House of Representatives Pension Reform ad-hoc Committee. He ensured the speedy passage of the Pension Bill which was assented to by then President Olusegun Obasanjo. The assets under management of the industry is now estimated at more than 16 trillion Naira from a zero position in 2004 when the bill was signed into law.

In addition to this, Nze Duru takes credit for championing the bill that led to the unbundling of the power sector to electricity generation (GENCOS), transmission, system operation, and distribution (DISCOS) segments. Whilst as Chairman of the House Committee on Privatization, with oversight responsibilities over the Bureau for Public Enterprises (B.P.E)., he redesigned the bidding methods to follow the principle of technical competence before financial viability. The introduction of this principle nipped in the bud the political charge that characterized the dealings in BPE at the time. Under his watch, BPE realized N300bn (Three hundred Billion Naira) which was credited to the Treasury of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Coming on the back of unleashing the potentialities of the pension industry, Nze Duru established First Guarantee Pension Limited, in another record-pioneering accomplishment, in 2004. First Guarantee Pension Limited is one of the first-generation strategy-focused Pension Fund administrators to be licensed by the National Pension Commission. It has now been acquired by Access Bank Plc and merged with Sigma Pension to form Access Pension.

Outside politics, Nze Duru manages a large business portfolio under the Grand Tower Holding Company structure with interests in Investment, Hospitality, Real Estate Development, and Distribution. The Bon Grand Tower Hotel franchise which operates across States in Nigeria is one of the flagships of his many entrepreneurial engagements.

Nze Duru is the founder of CallPhone Limited, an integrated payment solutions company driven by innovative technology and systems to provide a wide range of value-added services. The company is the first Fintech company to be granted the CBN’s Payment Solution Service (PSS) license category to operate as a PSSP, PTSP, and super-agent in Nigeria.

As part of his business landmarks, he remarkably hand-held the ShopRite franchise in a pioneering effort in the Federal Capital Territory to establish the first ShopRite Supermarket in Abuja with his Grand Tower Shopping Mall in Apo, Abuja. Other ShopRite Supermarket outlets have since sprouted across the Federal Capital Territory on the heel of his pioneering efforts.

Nze Duru who is currently the Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, hails from Nkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. He is an alumnus of many distinguished institutions of higher learning that include the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigerian Law School, Lagos, Lagos Business School, Lagos, University of Navarra, Barcelona, Spain, and Harvard University.

Addressing a gathering of Nigerian youths recently at a well-attended empowerment programme organised by the youths wing of the ruling party, Hon. Duru, who shared his personal experience while growing up, urged the youth on the need to stay back in Nigeria to shape the country.

SHEHU SANI WROTE:

If your governor is a professor but you can't articulate one project you are Anambra.

If an airport has been paid for in your name but it disappeared, you are Abia.

If God blessed you and you prospered through no particular hard work, but suddenly you have a mental issue and start destroying everything, you are Lagos.

If your governor and prominent citizens habitually gang up and sell the rest of the citizens to Abuja, you are definitely Imo.

If you are wealthy but with trouble in your life, you are Rivers.

If you are poor and having trouble in your life, you are Zamfara.

If you borrow money that you can’t pay, you are Kaduna.

If you have power but you don’t have light in your life, you are Niger.

If you have rich people in your family and many of your family members are poor, you are Kano.

If God give you Rivers but you are dying of thirst, you are Kogi.

If the head of your family is a professor and some members of your family are saying education is a Sin, you are Borno
