We converted the Genesis Cinema into the Shepton Mallet Big Veg Competition for our Swede Caroline UK Cinema Release Premiere.

Inviting guests to bring their favourite veg along, which was weighed, judged and awarded rosettes, trophies and top prizes.

Spontaneous surprises from our interactive actors, lots of veg related puns and even post screening karaoke with and our leading lady !

Melting film, theatre music and performance together into a banging night is why we love what we do.

Please do share the film with your friends/followers. This is a small British indie and yet we’re being booked in a hell of a lot of cinemas nationwide! We gotta get those seats filled (on a microscopic marketing budget!)

A window into the dance scene within Dzaleka refugee camp in Malawi, Southeastern Africa 🕺🏽🎶

The story follows the journey of four different dance crews: The Fighters, The Dreamers, The Vision Girls and Salama Africa. Their passion for dance is a tool to create opportunities beyond the camp. Encapsulating what it means to be a celebrated dancer as well as a refugee, reclaiming their own identity and freedom.

Swede Caroline has won for “Spirit of the Festival” Award 🏆🖤 Making Movies has always been the dream for Co-Founders Jack & Boris.

Deadbeat have enjoyed creating commercials, music videos and event films for the past 8 years. ‘Swede Caroline’ is their debut feature and landmarks the launch of ‘Deadbeat Studios’, the home for their long form and story driven filmmaking.

As always, the team are keeping busy and already have two new exciting scripts under development, which are planned to go into production for 2023.

I was so nervous. ‘Be charming’ I kept telling myself, ‘make sure you’ve seen everything she’s been in and can talk fluently about their merits’... That was almost two years ago. Now that I know Jo, I think I would have probably been better going in there and talking about my farts.

Jo is the greatest energy going. She's such a fun person to be around. Not only a phenomenally natural actor who makes any director's job easy, she’s kind, caring and always full of encouragement. I couldn’t have done it without her! Our Caro!”

There’s not many people on the planet who can handle a dozen edits with such panache and calm 🧘‍♂️

We rose up with shooting raves and parties in the Clubs of London and fields of England. Staying up until 4am with nothing but a camera and an energy drink puts a certain level of grit on a man.

If you can squeeze through a dark sweaty tunnel of bug eyed men, then everything gets easier and you can do anything. And he can do anything, he’s a genius, an outright wizard and a bloody lovely chap 🖤

has the makings of a powerhouse producer, her determination and drive to get productions completed to a high degree on low budgets with tight turnarounds is astonishing to watch.

Never outwardly showing stress allows her to be the steady hand required to run sets at this level. Her staple deadpan humour and wit always bring plenty of laughs when we most need it.

It’s always a joy to see the work she is putting out and the bonds she is making with directors 💫

is the kinda guy who you would want to introduce to your Mother. He’s kind, charming, talented and devilishly funny.

Now remove your Ol’ Ma out of the equation and replace the living room with a film set and the Tetley’s with a Teradek and the feeling will be much the same.

From the Cornish beaches to boardrooms, big vegetable competitions to basement raves, he is a brother in arms. A true Deadbeat, a maverick who goes his own way and dances to his own tune. It’s an honour to work alongside you Brook! 🖤🎬

If you've ever had the pleasure of working with in person you'll know 2 things.

The first is that when Jack talks to you, he has the innate ability to make you feel like you're the most important person in the room. His 'albeit temporarily chipped' smile can raise any mood and his passion for cinema knows no bounds 🎬

This focus and attention is matched by the second standout trait which is when he's out filming. Jack has the beauty and grace of a concert ballerina in full flow when his camera is in hand. He seemingly dances through crowds to capture unique moments that would otherwise be lost to the ages. This fluidity is key to Jack's unique style which he constantly seeks to adapt and improve for each production 🖤

As an editor it is always a joy to experience the footage through Jack's eyes and his work as a DOP allows for creative and exciting collaborations.

It's been f*cking awesome getting to mess around with Jack's concepts and I can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

When we asked our canine CEO, Una, for a comment she said: “Boris’ only fault is being kind of a Deadbeat dog dad, but that is only because he gives work 150% each day.” 🐶🖤

With the pandemic lockdowns just behind us, it has been thrilling to be able to travel abroad for work again, having the opportunity to work with US filmmakers whilst at the same time shooting some awesome probe lense motion control shots with the team 🎥

2018 is a contender for the summer of a lifetime, with perfect weather for chilling on the beach and also for growing grapes in sunny Sussex!

This film was a nostalgic celebration of that beautiful time.

Our climate crisis is a spiritual crisis. Returning lands and giving title to Indigenous people is the first step to reversing climate change.

Take a glimpse into The Kogi, an ancient Colombian civilisation that might just hold the answers to the climate crisis happening across the world right now. The Kogi have an important understanding of environmental management. Having studied the planet for hundreds of years, they can teach us how to take action and protect the Earth which we all share 🌎

Through this project, The Kogi have partnered with Deadbeat, Jaguar Siembra, and WaterBear towards a vital impact campaign. In order to preserve the Sierra, The Kogi need to buy back their land which was stolen from them, and recover the balance of the ecosystem 💚

The goal is to raise 10,000€ which will be rooted towards supporting Jaguar Siembra's existing community projects, with the donation being held by the Kogi Gonawindwa governmental organisation:

With Deadbeat Films on creative and production, these warm and comforting spots have focussed on a calm, minimal approach amid all the noise of Christmas consumerism. “The slow-fashion message of this brand is especially significant at this time of year,” said Deadbeat CD Boris Thomson-Roylance, with the spot’s narration very clear: “When the world shouts ‘buy new stuff’, Vinted whispers ‘sell second hand’”.
