Zainab, a visual artist based in Kashmir, graduated in journalism and mass communication from Women’s College, Srinagar. She is currently a practicing photojournalist and a founding member of Her Pixel Story, a Kashmir based women photographers’ collective. Her engagements with photography are mostly personal and involve documenting her experiences that arise from survival in a military occupied region. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally, including at the University of Leiden, Ishara Art Foundation, Dubai, the 10th Breda Photo Festival and Gulf Photo Plus, UAE. She is currently a part of the 2023–24 Pathshala International Photography Programme.
