In 2023, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of one of "the world's most groundbreaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

This landmark document enshrines the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, s*x, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status." - UN.

To commemorate this monumental event, we look back at one of our short docs from this year, "Asian Hate in the UK."

“Licklemor Productions and MAMA Youth Project are devastated by the sad passing of Benjamin Zephaniah, a man of exceptional talent who leaves a lasting legacy of literature, the arts and above all, humanity.

I have cherished my involvement with Benjamin on many projects over the years, but working closely with him on our BAFTA winning award show, Life & Rhymes, I got to know this truly great man well enough to count as one of his friends.

I can honestly say that Benjamin has been an inspiration to me. His honesty and care for other human beings is humbling. I would do well to be half the man he is.

For World AIDS Day, we look back at an interview with Andrew Lumsden, a leading gay rights campaigner who helped set up the first Pride march in London in 1972, which inspired later events worldwide and the global phenomenon we now know as Pride. 🏳️‍🌈

Andrew died on 1 November 2023, but his memory for many lives on.

We spoke with Andrew last year on the 50th anniversary of the first official Pride march, where it all began.
