Black and white photography has a timeless quality that can enhance certain subjects. While I don’t often shoot in black and white, I sometimes find that it can better convey emotion and atmosphere.

Last week, I had the privilege of photographing a training event at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk for clients from Washington DC. I was particularly impressed by the work of the Woodshed Collective from Georgetown University’s Racial Justice Institute.

Here are a few black and white shots I captured backstage at the Rose Theatre. The accompanying videos will be released soon.
