Hello everyone!
Do you struggle with English pronunciation?

We know there are no shortcuts to perfect pronunciation, however there are some ways to practice more effectively and improve your skills faster

Follow our top ten tips, start improving your pronunciation today, and take a step towards your goal of perfect English pronunciation.

1️⃣ Listen to yourself
It’s often difficult to hear pronunciation errors in your own speech because you are concentrating actually communicating rather than the sound you are making. If you can’t hear your pronunciation problems, it’s tough to correct them. Try recording your speech with your smartphone or PC and making a note of specific areas you need to improve on.

2️⃣Slow down!
Many English learners think that speaking fluently means they need to speak fast. This is wrong. Speaking too fast reinforces bad habits and makes the speaker sound nervous and indecisive. Speaking slowly will give you time to breathe properly and think about what you want to say next. Because it gives you time to think while you are speaking, you’ll feel more relaxed and be able to concentrate on making your English sound fantastic.

3️⃣Picture it…
Close your eyes and think about how to make a sound before saying it. Visualize the positioning of your mouth and face. If you have studied with the phonemic chart, think about the sound you are making and how it relates to other English phonemes. If you have used diagrams of the mouth and tongue, think about the shape you need to make inside your mouth if you want to make the sound correctly.

4️⃣Get physical!
Pronunciation is a physical skill. You’re teaching your mouth a new way to move and using different muscles. Focus on difficult sounds each day. Having trouble with ‘th’? Put your tongue between your teeth (don’t bite down) and blow air out of your mouth. Feel the air move over the top of your tongue.

5️⃣Watch yourself
Stand in front of a mirror to see the placement of your tongue, lips, and shape of your mouth when you make certain sounds. Compare what you see with a video of a native-speaker saying the same thing.

6️⃣Copy the experts
There’s no replacement for learning pronunciation from the experts – native-speakers. So listen! Listen to English radio programs and watch television and movies in English. Imitate what you’re hearing – even if you’re not sure what they’re saying yet.

7️⃣Practice English alone
Pronunciation problems persist because we’re afraid to make mistakes. Create scenarios – meeting someone for the first time, ordering at a restaurant, asking for directions – then act out the dialogue by yourself. Don’t be shy.

8️⃣Find a language buddy
Getting feedback from an outside observer is crucial. Find a friend who’s also interested in improving their English. Try exchanging recorded messages so you can listen closely to each other’s pronunciation.

9️⃣ Pay attention to intonation and stress
Good pronunciation is more than just mastering individual sounds. It’s also understanding intonation (the rise and fall of the voice) and stress (some sounds in words and some words in sentences are louder or clearer than others). Read poems, speeches and songs aloud, concentrating on the word stress and intonation.

🔟 Sing a song!
Learn the words to popular English songs and sing along. Singing helps you relax and just get those words out, as well as helping your rhythm and intonation. Because you don’t need to concentrate on constructing sentences for yourself, you can concentrate on making your pronunciation sound great!

Hi everybody!

➡ Previously we saw 3 types of "Transition Words".

➡ Now, here are brief explanations of 02 types of "Transition Word" - REASON and RESULT.

🎯 But, What Is A Transition Word?
- In simple terms, a transition word demonstrates the relationship between two portions of the text or spoken language. By using the imagery of a bridge, we can see how these words take us from one statement to another. By using these words we can better build a sentence and convey what we are trying to say in a more concise manner.

Hello everybody!
Do you know the "transition words"?

➡ As a “part of speech” transition words are used to link words, phrases or sentences.

➡They help the reader to progress from one idea (expressed by the author) to the next idea.

➡Thus, they help to build up coherent relationships within the text.

23/07/2021

Hello everyone!

➡ No matter how good your grammar is, if you don’t know any words that you can use it with, you (literally) won’t get very far with your language skills: Vocabulary opens up doors to new worlds and makes learning fun and satisfying.

➡ Everyone has to find what works for them; but being patient, setting realistic goals, and rewarding yourself if you reach them are a good strategy that can be complemented with any of the following points.

👇👇 Here are 09 tips that can help you memorize a new vocabulary 👇👇

➡ 1. Use Memory Techniques
A popular way to memorize vocabulary is the use of mnemonics, which are mental shortcuts that help you remember more complex concepts or words. For example, you can create associations between words: If you don’t know how to spell the words accommodation, just remember that it "hastwocots" that need "twomattresses". Or you come up with an acronym: Like, when you need to go to the STORE to buy (S)paghetti, (T)omatoes, (O)lives, (R)ice, (E)ggs. The problem is, of course, that you still have to memorize the acronym, song, or association, but with a little bit of practice, you’ll get good at coming up with creative and useful connections. And: The longer you think about acronyms or associations, the better will you remember the words that come with it.

➡ 2. Create a learning environment
When you’re studying abroad, you will hear and read the language everywhere and learn much faster through immersion. But you don’t have to go abroad to slowly increase the number of words you know – you can create an inspiring and study-friendly environment wherever you are: Buy magazines or books in the new language, watch movies, and cook (or just eat) the local food.

➡ 3. Put the words in context
A good idea to learn more words faster is to put them in context: Instead of writing lists of random words, try to put them in sentences. That way, you know how the word is used in real life. Plus, if you come up with funny sentences, it will be easier to memorize. Depending on how you learn, you can also make drawings or find images that will complement the sentences and put the words into their natural habitat.

➡ 4. Learn from real-life situations
Speaking of context: Movies, TV shows, books, podcasts or songs are not only a great source for the most common words, they can also help you memorize the vocabulary because they always come associated with a scene, a person, or a (real-life) event. So, try to read books or watch movies in the original language (with subtitles) and figure out what the words mean. If you see or hear a phrase or sentence that you don’t understand, write it down, look it up and start memorizing it.

➡ 5. Take it to the next level
If you want to take language learning to the next level, leave enough space for mind maps with associated words, synonyms or antonyms. If you want to get the most out of your learning process, try not to translate the word into your native language, but instead, explain and describe it in the language you’re trying to learn.

➡ 6. Find the tools that work for you
Everyone learns differently, so if you don’t already know what works for you, try as many different ways – or a combination thereof – as possible: Flashcards, apps, lists, games, or post-its, are great ways to memorize vocabulary. The same goes for finding the right time: Some people want to set apart a specific time, others learn more spontaneously. No matter which approach you choose, be sure to get into some kind of rhythm – practice makes perfect, after all.

➡ 7. Make it interactive
Just like you have to find the right tools that work for you, it’s also important to make the learning experience as encompassing as possible: Don’t just read the words from cards or lists – hear them pronounced, say them out loud yourself and write or type them. The more you make your encounter with the words an experience for all senses, the better. (Why not eat ice cream while learning what the different flavors are called?)

➡ 8. Focus on useful words
If you want to expand your vocabulary because you want to work at a marketing firm abroad, you probably don’t have to read Shakespeare’s novels or focus on words that pertain to the Middle Ages. The more practical and popular the words are for your career, hobbies and real-life conversations, the easier they are to learn – and you will be able to use them more often. (This can be like a game: You can reward yourself every time you used a certain word in a real-life conversation.)

➡ 9. Repeat and then repeat some more
Remember to not just repeat current words, but also the “old stuff” that you think you’ve memorized already. You don’t have to look at the stored words as often as the new vocabulary, but the more you use the words, the better you’ll remember and recall them.

21/07/2021

Hi guys!
We saw earlier about the preposition "FOR", now let's take a look at "SINCE".

➡ In English, we use "since" to refer to a point of time. "Since" can refer to a point after a specific time or event in the past. Or it can refer to a particular point beginning sometime in the past and continuing until the present time. The particular point in time could be anything – last Tuesday, 2008 or midnight, for example.

➡ The important point is that "since" is used with a particular point in time.

➡ The basic formula for using "since" is this: since + a particular point in time.

➡ In sentences with "since", we usually use perfect tenses. When using "since", we normally use present perfect and past perfect tenses in the main clause of the sentence. You wouldn't use "since" when you are talking about the future because, by definition, "since" refers to specific point in the past.

Hello everyone, how are you?
Today I brought you how to use the preposition "for"

➡In English, we use the preposition "for" to talk about an amount of time or space. The amount of time could be seconds, minutes, hours, days, months or even years.

➡The amount of time does not need to be exact. You could use "for" when you are talking about vague periods of time, like "for the weekend", "for ages" or "for a long time".

➡ The important point is that 'for" is used to specify a period of time.

➡ In English, the basic formula for using for is this: for + a period of time

➡ For can be used when talking about the past, present or future.

➡ Regardless of the verb tense, the preposition "for" is still followed by a period of time.
