Beatles Liverpool and More was launched in 2007 by Kevin Roach. With a career as an Archivist and Researcher behind him and a keen interest in the Beatles, Kevin Roach started his first project, researching the family history of Paul and Mike McCartney. The project grew and it wasn't long before the two McCartney brothers were on board and backing the publication of Kevin's project as a book, and

in 2009 'The McCartneys - In The Town Where They Were Born' was released, a family history book with personal photographs supplied by the family and the stories of the generations that came before the famous musical brothers. The release was subject to the World's Media with the inclusive of a never before seen essay that Paul had written in 1953 aged 10 in honour of the coronation at Queen Elizabeth II, his earliest known creative work. Today, Kevin and the team, are working on a number of projects, researching on behalf of many companies and individuals as well as still working on a few projects of their own. In 2014 they launched a publishing branch of the company to help others share their projects.

Hillsborough "When Will Dad Be Home One Boys Story Of a Tragedy"
By Shaun Millea
Author Shaun Millea has been working on this campaign to have the Hillsborough disaster taught in schools since the publication of his book in 2019. He has had the subject heard in Parliament, and in 2023 it was introduced on to the National Curriculum firstly in Liverpool.
Shaun has kindly gifted the profits from his book to help supply all schools with a hard copy of his book for students to study.
If you would like to get involved and support this project, you can find more details and how to donate https://www.beatlesliverpoolandmore.com/hillsborough...
This book by author Shaun Millea has been a work of passion. Shaun was born, lives and works in Liverpool. Whilst delivering a history lecture at Toxteth Library, he began a conversation with a lady from Bath. She explained that her children didn’t understand what Hillsborough meant to the people of Liverpool. That comment inspired him to write this book.
Synopsis
This is the fictional story of Frankie who was aged 9 years old in 1989, when his Dad went to watch Liverpool v Nottingham Forest in the semi-final of the F.A. cup at Hillsborough Stadium on the 15th April.
Frankie tells his story of the heartbreak of that day. The book uses factual information about the tragedy to enhance the story.
Why would reading this book help your students:
· The Hillsborough tragedy will be an enduring part of life for the people of Liverpool. Both staff and students will benefit from learning the facts from the day, as well as the emotional fallout the victims and their families faced.
· Including this book in your curriculum will support your statutory delivery of PSHE, particularly the Mental Health and Wellbeing section.
· The book deals with the fundamental issue of loss. Reading it will afford teachers the opportunity to initiate conversations with students about grief and bereavement.
· Students can begin to identify ways in which they can deal with these emotions, finding positive outlets for grief, such as counselling, memory books etc.
· Due to the author being a Liverpudlian himself, there is the opportunity to arrange school visits, where the themes and passion behind writing this story can be explained further.
