One of the meteorological phenomena typically occurring from April until September across islands and coastal areas, such as Shetland, is the haar (or sea fog) 🌫
Helen Perry captured it rolling over the Kame in Foula one summer evening.
The new Antarctic arrived in Lerwick for the first time this morning.

'A blizzard of gannets' is how Orcadian wildlife photographer Raymond Besant described this scene at Hermaness in Unst.
'I've filmed there quite a bit in the past but I've never seen anything like this,' Raymond said.
He was told that the birds usually react in this way to an orca or kayakers - and indeed in this case, there was a lone kayaker down below the cliffs.
Janice Priest witnessed this unusual scene yesterday when driving through Unst.
'No saying whit you encounter on da roads in Unst! On my way in da Hannigarth road an fin mares being serenaded by a foreigner playing da bagpipes,' she said.
She later found out the Shetland pony whisperer was Jacques (Jack) loset from Switzerland.
He told Janice the mares had come right up to him when he started playing the pipes.
Thanks Janice for the 🐴 video!
