NEW CHRISTMAS KEBABS AT BAB

Stevenson Square kebab joint has launched their new Christmas menu - and it’s a Christmas cracker.

We tried the Festive Bab which is stuffed with turkey, pigs in blankets, pork stuffing, creamed veg, pickled red cabbage, roasted carrots and parsnips, roasted chestnut and Bab’s own spicy gravy.

Then for the plant-eating folks, there’s the Festive Nut Roast Bab, with slabs of nut roast, sage and onion stuffing, those same trimmings and more of that Bab spicy gravy.

There are a heap of meze dishes too - like pork, sage and cranberry stuffing balls, bacon and brie stuffed flatbread with cranberry and pickled cabbage, and a nut roast version too.

If you can’t decide, get the Christmas Meze Sharer, with pigs in blankets, wings, festive cheese bites, padron peppers and calamari.

For pudding? Try a Bab Mince Pie - a mince pie wrap with melting cinnamon ice cream and caramel biscoff sauce or the apple and winter berry bread pudding.

And remember, it’s 50% off on Mondays, if you pre-book, and there are daily lunch deals for a tenner.

FULL PATATAS BRAVAS MENU AT EL GATO NEGRO'S CHRISTMAS MARKET STALL 🥔🎅

If you like nothing more than tucking into a bowl of crispy fried potatoes topped with spiced fritada sauce and a dollop of aioli, then you need to head down to El Gato Negro Tapas.

Their stall on King Street has a menu dedicated to the Spanish classic, with some special festive options to choose from.

You can choose between the classic, cheese & gravy, chorizo, or the fully loaded bravas - this comes with potatoes, cheese, chorizo in cider sauce, sriracha mayo and crispy shallots.

There’s also chorizo sandwiches, with rocket and piquillo pepper aioli, and a goat’s cheese sandwich with rocket and caramelised onion.

You’re also covered for drinks; they’re serving mulled wine, mulled cider and Victoria Malaga lager on tap.

And if all that’s not enough, there are seats and heaters on King Street as well!

A huge multi-sensory family-friendly light trail is coming to Heaton Park this Christmas time 😍✨

The Sony Music trail will feature breathtaking never before seen lights, colour-changing orbs, larger-than-life flowers and neon strings that reach high into the sky.

Visitors can also wander through a laser garden filled with thousands of tiny beams of light and into a giant twinkling tunnel that will surround them with sparkle.

FIRST LOOK: BLACK FRIAR TRANSFORMED INTO MEDIEVAL WINTER TAVERN WITH NEW COSY CABINS ❄️

The historic pub has announced the opening of its Winter Tavern, with festive feasts, roaring fires, and brand-new Winter Cabins to keep you warm during the cold Manchester nights.

The award-winning garden has been transformed into a fully covered, outdoor medieval Winter Tavern, with all new Winter Cabins, and it opens tomorrow, November 9th.

The new Christmas menu is available from Monday November 20th, and includes seasonal offerings like Cheshire Turkey Ballotine with pancetta stuffing, festive sides including truffle fries and pork chipolatas, as well as slime incredible desserts like tiramisu yule log and apple crumble.

Also new are the Winter Cabins. Groups of up to eight can reserve these outdoor, heated bespoke winter huts - handmade by Pod Folks and in partnership with Estrella Damm - and reservations are completely free.

From Saturday November 11th the cabins can be booked from 12pm each day, with the last slot available at 9pm during the week and at 10pm on the weekends.

STOCKPORT HOSTING ‘FIRST EVER’ CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE BEING CROWNED TOWN OF CULTURE 🎅❄

The event will feature more than 60 breath-taking shows and 220 artists alongside roaming acts, carnival fun, live music and festive food stalls, bringing entertainment to families on a scale not seen before across the town.

Stockport’s Spectacular Sunday will take place on November 19th from 11am – 5pm, featuring a variety of performers at various locations across the town centre, including Merseyway Shopping Centre, Market Place and The Underbanks.

Councillor Mark Hunter, Leader of Stockport Council, said: “Our ever-popular Christmas event is even bigger and better this year to celebrate our Town of Culture status and to finish the year on a real high, with this free family-friendly event.

“Christmas is a magical time of year and our town centre will be transformed to bring some festive cheer to our many residents and visitors and showcase our fantastic town.”
