Iv been kit bashing a few Maggotkin of Nurgle Blight Kings recently and ran out of shields as I wanted a unit of 5 guys all with sword and board. SO needed to use something from the Stomcast kit to make a shield. I think the pose works quite well as the open arms are a nice mix of "come and get some" and also potentially after a shield bash or something. I roughed up the shield with my hobby knife and pin drill to make it sufficiently Nurgly and then sculpted a basic strap from green stuff. I flopped the strap over the shield to make it interesting as I wanted it to look a bit like a cross between a strap and a te****le - Perfect! Now onto painting!

What would a caster be without something cool to cast - Been working on this Burning Head Endless Spell I picked up second hand and wanted to give it a paint job that was simple but effective. The army colour for my IronJaws if that strong orange so I felt like it made sense to not only do the fire orange (as that is kinda the colour fire is) but also to tie it into the army. I used the airbrush to load in some low lights with a dark purple to give it some more contrast in the flames. Just a bit of basing and we are ready for the table - Came out great I think! Very... heavy metal?! 🤟🤟

More Orks today and this time started work on and AOS ( ) weirdnob shaman for an Orruk Iron Jaws force. Skin coming along nicely except from a few highlights and almost completed the face. Great model with some really nice details and a great opportunity to work on muscles highlights and skin tones.

A little test model for the bone legions of the Ossiarch - The objective here was to get these guys done and on the table as quick as possible - Like 1000 points in a weekend possible. We used a 5 colour dry brush working up from a dark chocolate base coat for the bone and then this also set us up for the use of contrast on the shield, cloth and wraps for the spear. We finished up with an edge highlight to crisp up the edges of the armour and called it a day. Super pleased with how he comes out and got him down to about an hour and bit. I think the painting time will come down when we can get these guys lined up and paint through whilst the first model is drying. Anyway! onto the other 999 points! LOL

Been weathering back some servants of the plague father today. I love these jobs so much! Its the little details that I think really bring a model to life and base them in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium.

WIP Wednesday - Was so good to go back and paint this model. One of my favourite characters from the old world and a model that I originally painted about 15 years ago when it was in metal (I still have the metal one somewhere!). This time around it was a 3D print from Etsy - and one hell of a print it is! Still a way to go but had great find with the skin so far.

Can you name this LEGEND of the old world ya git?

Something very different for us - Still a model but a epic building to use on the table top - This model was a 3d print that I think is designed to be used with D&D but we think works very well with Age of Sigmar - Its super cool how you can open the building and have guy fight inside (and this has happened on a couple of games - Rat Ogres chasing men at arms inside! lol)

The model being a 3D print did present some issue with the printing lines and washes seeping into the grooves. Sometime the effect looked great but I think if we did another one we would spend more time in the prep stage and do a bit of filling etc. or maybe even use a filler primer etc.

I guess the only thing to do now is to make some more and come up with a village!

Not great if you have arachnophobia! Love this model so much and the carapace colour I think is just awesome! You can just imagine this monster coming out of a dark cave on the battle field and the fear it must send cascading cross the enemy force! RUN AWAY!!!!

Such a playful pup! Another WIP for our Kruleboys this time the Snatchaboss on Sludgeraker Beast, I have loved them model since it came out and always wanted to paint one. We played a friendly test game the other day (with him unpainted - SHOCK!) and he did absolute WORK! If you are a KB player... well worth a look!

More images to follow once he is complete!

Back in with the Skaven - This time finishing up the Gnawbeast that our Clawloard will be riding. This thing is grim but a lot of fun to paint. There was some good opportunities to try out some new stuff with the bald patches of skin and the ragged fur! Cant wait to get this guy finished up and on the table!

We have had this 3rd eddition 40k terrain laying around for ages! We have been using it for some games with matts etc but it was looking tired and we were sure we could breath new life into it! Few coats of paint, a bit of dry brushing and some pigments and away we go!

Its nice to work on some terrain after working on a lot of detail where you can just have fun and let the chaos unfold! The blood splatter was super easy to do but we think looks super effective!

The second test model for our Kruleboyz force - Loving the skin tone! I wanted to add something a little extra to the horn blowers skin to show that there was variation across the army. I think the dot work came out really well and almost reminds me of a Githyanki
