Congratulations to our L3 Music and Production students who successfully ran their end of year event at the Oh Yeah Centre. The students recorded and produced their own album called ‘Turn it Up’ and performed tracks from it at their event. They raised £474.68 for Young Minds charity. Well done to all the students and staff involved. Fantastic result!

📢 Opportunity - Write a 2 minute "Snapshot" piece for either solo violin, solo cello, or solo piano, inspired by the oasis that is the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland! 🍃🌺

About "Snapshots":

"Snapshots" is a professional development opportunity presented by Fidelio Trio in collaboration with the Contemporary Music Centre and GlasDrum, and in partnership with Fidelio Trio Winter Chamber Music Festival 2023.

This opportunity is suitable for emerging and early-career music creators/composers, born or based on the island of Ireland.

The selected 9 "Snapshots" participants will workshop their pieces with members of Fidelio Trio, who will share expert one-to-one feedback with each composer/music creator on Saturday 25 November from 2-5pm.

Participants will be encouraged to attend the lunchtime concert before this workshop which features four new works for violin and electronics taking their inspiration from the flora of the National Botanic Gardens, by composers Gráinne Mulvey, Siobhán Cleary, Seán Ó Dálaigh & Fergal Dowling.

Following the workshop, participants will also be invited to attend the roundtable discussion at 6pm, focusing on previous Fidelio Trio Winter Chamber Music Festival commissions by composers John Buckley, Rhona Clarke, Ann Cleare & Kevin Volans.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

It is of utmost importance that all of our tutors are confident, outgoing and encouraging
musicians with a genuine passion for music. Previous performance experience is crucial, as
is the ability to read sheet music fluently.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

Although not necessary, a higher level qualification in your instrument, such as a Grade 8,
HND, BMus or BA, is highly desirable. We pride ourselves on our team's strong
interpersonal skills and all-round musicianship, so previous teaching experience and a
second instrument would also be ideal.
