In just one lyric book, I found 8 TITLES & IDEAS pages. The 5th pic was for a solo project I was going to attempt a few years ago; the 7th pic was what I had in mind for the 3rd WOODEN STAKE album; the 8th pic was me mapping out the 2nd CAULDRON BURIAL album before I even started work on it. Oh, and the inverted cross in the 4th pic I made with ash from a candle. The last pic is the front of the notebook - a classic composition book covered in black electrical tape 🖤📓

I love that when I start the layout for my MUSICA MACABRE: Lyric & Studio Diaries book (working title), I’ll have a chapter for just title pages. All of my notebooks have these random inserts of ideas I would have and quickly write them down. It’s important for me to have pages like this; sometimes they could spark the greatest flame of inspiration.

I’ve mentioned before I’ve been working on a book (working title: MUSICA MACABRE) compiling all of my lyrics, “studio” diaries, pics, etc., and thought I would share a few sample pages from my handwritten notebooks. May have to zoom in to read, but these are rough notes, drafts, ideas, etc. for my bands including HOWLING, WOODEN STAKE, SCAREMAKER, SKELETAL SPECTRE, SURGIKILL, CAULDRON BURIAL and VAULTWRAITH. If you look hard enough you’ll find the origin of the debut VAULTWRAITH album title Death is Proof of Satan’s Power.
A big reason for me to present scans of these pages is to share my writing process and to show how inspired I would be working on my music. Totally in the zone and MY work. No one else gets credit for this. It was ME who was a driving creative force in my accomplishments.

Is there anyone out there who has the power to edit on Metal-Archives? My information on there has been changed and it’s inaccurate, even my name. No wonder people are having a hard time finding me. If anyone could update this, it would help people who are trying to reach out to me and using metal-archives to do so. Thank you, it would be much appreciated

Vanessa Hexe here...
I’m preparing my biggest book release yet. Over a decade of recording music documented in a tome - MUSICA MACABRE: Lyrics and Studio Notebooks of Vanessa Hexe (working title, originated in 2007 when I was with my band WOLFHOLLOW and I’ve since used it in Nekromantikal Screams).

This book will include: lyrics I’ve written for my bands and other bands, album art, various pics taken during recording sessions, promotional pics, scans of handwritten originals of lyrics and lyric notes, scans of handwritten studio diaries, and memories on the writing and recording process of the material from each of my bands. It shed some light on things “behind the music” so to speak. The cover art is masterfully done by Mörtuus-Art and sums up my musical and lyrical work.

I’ve already started working on this and I can see the long road ahead of me before it’s done, but I’m ready for the work! I’m also ready to get back to writing and recording music and returning with an album better than ever. Before any of this though, I will be posting some necessary updates as I feel my name change factors in on how this book will do. Hopefully with your help I can reach those who wonder “what happened to Vanessa?”

Slowly but surely, the HexeCoven Records online store is reopening. Figuring out shipping costs is still a process but things can start moving.
The CDs are now available for purchase, and next I will have the shirts you see inventoried with available sizes for you to choose from.

I’m extremely proud to share with you this *BOOK COVER REVEAL*

Bile of Bilateral Beasts: Poems & Automatic Writings is the second poetry collection by musician and writer Vanessa Hexe. The book is presented in two sections: The Poems and Automatic Writings. The first section is comprised of every poem in the collection typed, and the second part of the book features visual stimuli in the way of original handwritten drafts scanned from notebooks Vanessa refers to as “automatic writings”.

In an excerpt taken from the introduction of the book’s second section, Vanessa writes “I refer to these first drafts as ‘automatic writings’. Not necessarily in the sense that I feel a spirit is communicating through me, but in the sense that sometimes I feel disembodied when I hit the pinnacle of ‘stream of consciousness’ writing. When everything flows perfectly or imperfectly all at once, and part of the enjoyment is refining my work into its final form (much like the larval stage).”

At 200 pages, this offering will come to you in 6x9 size with a soft matte cover book via Vexed Vamp Publications. Official release date soon to be announced.
