the abstrait's story started in 1996, when raphaël marionneau opened his first chillout event at the legendary mojo club on the reeperbahn 1 in hamburg. the monthly even became fastly from an insider hit to one of the well-known chillout club in germany. with this success and great public and press feedback, raphaël developped over the years different event series and formats with classical music
called "le classique abstrait", summer events "l'été abstrait", chillout concert "le concert abstrait" or the multimedia dj-show at planetarium hamburg: "le voyage abstrait" (2002-now) and many other events concept like "phil & chill", "le rythme abstrait", etc...
since 2000, abstrait release regularly chillout compilations and the label created in 2003 already released more than 20 albums like "le café abstrait 1 to 8", "le classique abstrait 1 to 3", "l'été abstrait 1 to 3", "les ambassadeurs 1 to 3" and many more. from 2001 to 2003, raphaël marionneau presented "le classique abstrait" on the Klassikradio in germany and was the first classical dj who played on a classical radio. since 2004, the french soundpilot proposes every sunday night from 23.00 to 00.00 , "N-JOY abstrait" on N-JOY. and since 2008, the special show "N-JOY abstrait presents" where raphaël invites artists from the international chillout scene. for more info about the abstrait events, shows, recordings, please visit the official website.
