We’re back with our annual update of the most comprehensive infographic on the history of Hotel & Travel Technology.

, we set out to map the evolutionary timeline of hotel and travel technology from the onset of the Industrial Revolution to modern day.

From the humble emergence of hotel indoor plumbing, the opening of the first travel agency, the introduction of in-room telephones to modern corporate acquisitions and technology integrations featuring cutting-edge AI, VR, and process automation software

This timeline is free for the industry.

Techtalk.travel joined the conference to share insights from the industry perspective, and to host the panel discussing the question if robots will humanize service in hospitality with Prof. Iis Tussyadiah (University of Surrey), Prof. David Abbink (Delft University of Technology), Prof. Stanislav Ivanov (ROBONOMICS: The Journal of the Automated Economy), and Prof. Dr. Koen Hindriks (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam).

Experts from different disciplines came together to discuss the positive and negative impacts of and on the hospitality profession and hospitality experiences, and 35+ researchers introduced their papers.

Thank you for having us and organizing such a great event, Jeroen Oskam and Alexander Lennart Schmidt.

We loved being part of it, meeting everyone, and learning more about all the various research papers focusing on robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence in hospitality.
