PREMIERE on Deep House Sweden Long lasting experience behind the decks and in the studio: SoKooLs performance gets straight to the heart, escorted by a sound that has reached an unmistakable signature. Starting off as a duo already in 2011, Thomas and Mathias’ terrific live gigs quickly touch the hearts and minds of electronic music. Big releases like "Little Bird" on Katermukke or “Recognize” on OFF Recordings and endless international bookings such as Georgia and Thailand only marked the beginning. The collaborations range from artists like Marcus Meinhardt Mr.Schug Kollektiv Ost or Max Joni to name a few. Legendary and infamous established party series like Katerfrühstück at KaterBlau or Bo**el Des Arts in Wilde Renate in Berlin are Sokool’s home base. 10 years later, Sokool is on his own and yet not alone: Thomas became an integral part of the Obsolet Records family, releasing their first joint album “Abenteuerspielplatz'' in 2021. Regardless if you have been there from the early hours or not, Sokool’s sound will get to you and never leave. A true journey far beyond belief: mesmerizing, honest, and straight to the core.

Wheter as a resident DJ in the Hamburg neighborhood in the house club "Frau Holle or as a part of the scene label Katz & Kauz Music - Othertuneis busy and with a lot of energy in shaping today‘s techno scene and enriching it with his musical signature. An interplay of experience on stage, at the decks in the studio and as a producer - with irrepressible creativity and love for electronic music - we can already look forward for further tracks from the berlin house Othertune. We are excited to welcome him on our label with his track “Another Story”, a collab with SoKool!

PREMIERE on Bangkok Underground: Berlin-based Mona Moore has been a passionate lover of electronic music since the year 2000. Sooner or later, she had to venture behind the decks. She had her debut in "her living room" as she calls KaterBlau. Even outside of Berlin, Mona Moore has already presented the audience her music, which she calls a deep groovy and melodic techno / deep house. Meanwhile she is also curator of a mix series (Out of Space and Time) on Proton Music and also the organizer of the event series "Enorm in Form" at KaterBlau. In the pandemic period, she has started to produce music and the first track „Fleur“ was released in June 2021 together with Stan Starry on the label Katz & Kauz. Further own releases are in the pipeline. We are excited to welcome her on our label with her track “To The Basement”!

PREMIERE on DIT KLINGT JUT: Ever since his first youthful encounter with electronic music, Starkato was fascinated by the sonic landscape of techno and the creative process behind it. After honing his production skills for several years in the shadows, he decided to step into the strobe light and take people on a journey through his electronic world of sonic textures and melodic soundscapes on labels such as Sudbeat, Sprout, Iconyc, Movement Recordings, Beatfreak, Moonbootique, Riot, Lauter Unfug, Click Records, Somatic and many more.

And what do you do with a talent for guitar, cello and the drums? You start playing techno! Despite having different musical roots, Intaktogene accidentally found herself behind the turn tables. Just for fun. But fun turned into passion and the Gods of techno had different plans. Intakto…. What? "Entaktogen", touching what's within - music with melodies that touch the heart and a bassline finding it's way right into your bones. Intaktogene loves techno and techno loves Intaktogene, like pot and lid, great love at first bass. We are excited to welcome her on our label with her track “The Torrent”, a collaboration with Starkato.

PREMIERE on Sunexplosion: Ornery is a Music Producer, DJ, Label Owner and Sound Engineer based in Berlin. Influenced by a broad range of genres and styles, his inspiration draws from the entire spectrum of electronic music; constantly oscillating between dark, emotional and intense. After his chart-topping debut solo EP on Flemcy Music, his production output hasn’t seen any signs of slowing down, with a string of originals and remixes that keeps receiving great feedback and support from underground artists all over the world.

The last few years saw him playing multiple times in Berlin; other than appearing at numerous showcases in London, Ibiza and Miami. He currently manages his “Audere” and “Daydreaming” imprints, and his studio/label “Lost Crate”. We are excited to welcome him again on our label with his track “Doppeldecker”, a colab with Michael Ritter on the upcoming GBH046 - Resonance VA. Thanks for the support Sunexplosion!

Check out the interview by Garance with Electronic Groove where she is talking about the background of our latest release “Yellow Shadows” and shares some insights to her personal story as well. In the meantime, we are happy to see that “Yellow Shadows” by Garance feat. BUNN, with remixes by Chris Zippel & Vanita is moving up the progressive house charts on Beatport, currently at #58!

Beyond the massive support by Spotify featuring the original mix in their “Electronic Rising” playlist, the release has also received positive feedback by artists by the likes of Darin Epsilon, Seth Schwarz, Eelke Kleijn, MATAN CASPI, Steve Parry, and many others.

PREMIERE on DIT KLINGT JUT: The final remix sees another Swiss star make her Grey Bar Hotel debut. From the clear mountain air that surround Zurich, Vanessa Spolidoro has carved quite a niche for herself via her Vanita production name. Evident throughout a trademark sound, Vanita’s love for house and techno infiltrates her dark brooding remix of “Yellow Shadows”. Able to point to releases on such esteemed imprints as Click Records, KATERMUKKE, Timeless Moment and Desert Hearts Black, her powerful sound transforms Garance’s track into a storming, floor-filling monster. A stereo-panned running bassline creates dizzying tension, while her interpretation waxes and wanes with ease as a driving beat falls away to reveal a fizzing analogue lead and Bunn’s airy vocal phrases. Making elegant use of themes from Garance’s original, new production material by way of powerful new bassline and rousing crescendo find Vanita’s remix hitting its stride once more in the final stages in a sure-fire club hit.

A shuffling percussive cadence provides dancefloor credentials while a syncopated synth motif creates a deliciously swung cadence. Echoes from Garance’s original permeate throughout the 8-minute reworking with a stunning breakdown providing the perfect vehicle to explore the stripped back harmonies. Garance is returning to Grey Bar Hotel after a stellar remix of "Think City" in early 2022, “Yellow Shadows” is a glorious offering that revels in analog majesty as swirling synth motifs and trilling arpeggio sit atop a chest-thumping kick and urgent hi-hat percussion. Couched within a hypnotic melodic techno framework, Bunn’s vocal contributions add a silky-smooth sheen to proceedings as they coruscate across the stripped-back breakdown. A seasoned artist with an established catalogue, Kiantek returns to Grey Bar Hotel with his sophomore EP, “Alchemist”.

From an early age, the Berlin based artist found a passion for electronic music. Always aiming to cast himself at the bleeding edge of underground dance music, Kiantek has spent considerable time understanding modern production techniques, allowing for the creation a paradigm shift in what is possible within the electronic music framework. From Downtempo and Indie Dance to Techno and Organic House, Kiantek’s production portfolio is an eclectic blend of genres with a self-confessed aim to “build tension and provide musicality to audiences” with a view to move beyond the traditional dancefloor sound.

May 2021 saw a Grey Bar Hotel debut with the 3-track “Divine Patterns” and it is now an honour to welcome back Kiantek to the label with another imaginative musical triptych.
