The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore: the beauty of tradition and contemporaneity in one place

Opening in 2018, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore consists of the perfect combination of two Singapore's most famous landmarks - Parliament House and Stamford House. The result of years of meticulous restoration and renovation by renowned architect and Pritzker Prize winner Richard Meyer to showcase the best of the neo-classical Parliament House (1930) and the Venetian Renaissance-style Stamford House (1904), which are now joined together.

The hotel has taken great care to restore its inherent Victorian beauty while infusing it with Kempinski's signature bespoke service. Re-conceived by renowned interior designer Jaya Ibrahim and his team, the design stays true to the colonial Art Deco aesthetic that was prevalent at the time of the construction of the two preserved buildings in the early 1900s, whilst subtly updating the sophistication and contemporary touches.

Designed for this 155-room luxury hotel, the space comes to life with soaring gable ceilings, dramatic arches and grand windows that offer expansive views and an abundance of natural light, evoking equal parts glamour and grandeur to bring the century-old preservation pieces to life.
