The show will follow aunties / BFF’s Paulette and Suzanne as they venture across Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta to meet fellow members of the extremely popular page ‘Métis Foodies’.

Matter of Time is co-created by and WFI’s Casey Gibb and follows Paul, a 19 year-old closeted case who is visited by his time-travelling, buffalo-hunting Métis ancestor, Maurice. This year we received funding from the to develop a limited drama series about her incredible life. We are deeply honored by her trust in us and are very much looking forward to working on this project with her.

On this Louis Riel Day we honor André Nault, big brother to our mémère’s great grandfather, Boniface Nault who were both first cousins of Riel’s. André is noted in Métis history as the nation’s “captain of the guards”. He casted a vote for the ex*****on of Thomas Scott and his oldest son, Napoleon was involved in the Battle of Batoche and followed Gab Dumont into exile in the US. Napoleon also volunteered to testify at Riel’s trial only to be turned down. We are so proud to be descended from some of the Métis Nation’s bravest figures. Declaring Métis pride and identity as descendants of the shamed, hidden and lost Métis generations that came before us is a journey. Now, 20 years in, it’s one we see as a way of honoring the hard work and sacrifices of all those who came before so that they may not have been made in vain. Bonne journée Louis Riel à tous!
