On Screen Manitoba is excited to partner with MentorAbility Manitoba () to support emerging filmmakers experiencing disability. Our first mentorship pairing brought together Beryl (Mentee) and Rebecca Gibson (Mentor), a director at Eagle Vision .

“Beryl came prepared with insightful questions to ask Rebecca, aiming to further his career in the industry. Rebecca shared her personal experiences with her own mentors and highlighted the significant impact they had on her career journey,” MentorAbility shared.

“Rebecca emphasized how everyone’s unique abilities are valuable assets that can enrich new career opportunities. Some of Beryl’s concerns and questions prompted Rebecca to reflect on how to better accommodate all individuals in the evolving film industry, not just those with disabilities.”

This inspiring mentorship match is a testament to the importance of building an inclusive and supportive community in the arts. We’re grateful to Rebecca for her passion and expertise and wish Beryl every success in his journey!
