2022 was full of new opportunities as we fully embraced our pixel human identity, crafting brands one pixel at a time. The last couple of years forced us all to go virtual and even though we’ve embraced this virtual lifestyle, we know that the human connection is still important, especially since we have the word human in our name! We miss our in-person meetings and interactions with you!

As we dive into 2023, we will continue to devote our energy to providing highly tailored brand solutions and brand strategies to you with bigger ideas on elevating brands with human-centric solutions.

We look forward to the opportunities in the new year and will continue to cultivate our relationships as the world brings us together again. Thank you to our clients, collaborators, family and friends who support us as we continue to build bigger brands that leave a lasting impression.

Avenue Tap: On-tap freshness right in your hands.

Avenue Tap is everything that we love about city life. It’s fresh, urban and modern with a hint of hipster vibes just like their customers who pay attention to detail and appreciate products that promote good health and good life. We worked closely with Avenue Tap from the early stages of conception. We started with planning and developing their brand of kombucha by working on the brand strategy and positioning. This meant coming up with the name, tagline and brand personality.

Avenue Tap: On-tap freshness right in your hands.

Each flavour also has its unique identity so we came up with unique names to give each flavour its own personality. To stand out from one another, we also added different colours to easily identify each flavour of Avenue Tap kombucha. We are incredibly proud of seeing this project from its conception to being on the shelves of BCs local markets.

Brewed locally in Langley, BC, Avenue Tap brings fresh kombucha to its residents of Metro Vancouver. The name is urban and represents city life and we created a logo that mimics crossing street signs. To add to Avenue Tap’s personality, we carefully selected an urban-style font and included branding elements such as graffiti and hand-drawn ingredients to capture the local and rustic vibe. We were also involved in selecting and designing the bottle, which can be hand-held and transparent to show the natural colour of the kombucha. Customers will notice an embossing of “Avenue Tap” directly on the bottle and added elements on the cap to give each Avenue Tap bottle a personal touch.

This was a fun (and delicious) photography project that we worked on with William Luk () 🥃 The client was looking to promote their smoked whiskey kit with beautiful and authentic photography that captured the essence of smoke. The goal was to get a beautiful shot with minimal alterations. The selected captures turned out extraordinarily, if we do say so ourselves.

This photography session was definitely not one of the easiest photo sessions we've done. Each time we added smoke to the shot, we only had a few seconds to capture the right density and volume of the smoke. Playing with the lighting and angles played a big role in capturing its boldness.

The goal for the photography was to capture the smoke kit being used. This is to provide instruction to whiskey fans and connoisseurs and to help them visualize the product being used, without needing to follow text descriptions. We are extremely satisfied with how the shots turned out and look forward to seeing the smoke kit alongside our photography on the shelves.

We were given an exclusive opportunity to meet with lead game designer, Maurice Grela, and his team at Black Bird Interactive. We filmed an interview where the design team answered some questions that were sent by the gaming community about their upcoming title, Crossfire: Legion.

Crossfire: Legion is a real time strategy game featuring tactical action in furious battles across a shattered version of the future.

We are extremely excited for Maurice and the team for their upcoming launch of Crossfire: Legion. Early access arrives April 26, 2022.

WE ARE REBRANDING
ECD Graphics will now be known as pixel human.

We started our journey in 2005 and over the last 16 years, we have collaborated with many brands to come up with fun and creative solutions involving graphic design. Throughout our successes, as well as our struggles, we have learned a lot to sharpen our skills and craftsmanship in all aspects of creative production. As we continue to expand our creative horizons in the digital universe, we decided that we needed a new name. By the end of 2021, ECD Graphics will retire and will be rebranded as pixel human.

For 2022, we aspire to push the creative envelope even further. As a full-service digital agency, we will focus more on providing highly tailored brand strategies that work seamlessly with a business and brand core values and objectives. On top of that, it's our primary goal to make sure the solutions are human-centric. That means the user experience is our top priority when we go to the drawing board to discuss digital solutions.

2021 may have been another strange year but we had prepared ourselves to be working outside the office many years ago. This meant our business operations were not impacted too much; and now that working from home has become the norm, we have fully embraced the technology that has helped us move forward. Thank you to our friends, family, clients and collaborators who support us as we continue to build on creative, long-lasting relationships.

As we jingle all the way to the end of 2023, we're feeling the festive cheer! We've collaborated with brands to add flare to designs like sparkles on a Christmas tree and shared virtual eggnog with our amazing team, clients, collaborators, and friends. Over this pixel-packed year that was, we've embraced our pixel human identity, crafting brands with precision and creativity, wrapped with a delicately placed bow. From both virtual and in-person gatherings, we have come together to bring out our passion and provide creative solutions through design.
