.bale is a family-owned business that has just opened another brand new location on Rupert St. This particular spot serves Vietnamese coffee in collaboration with .coffee.

💭: We love how their bread stayed crispy and fresh - it didn’t get soggy even after our long photo session before eating. Their banh mis are generously packed with fillings, ensuring you will enjoy everything in each bite. Also, if you’re a fan of Vietnamese coffee, you won’t be disappointed—the coffee in the drinks are strong and rich yet balanced with a little sweetness when you mix it well.
✨Side Note ✨Don’t be intimidated by the egg coffee if you haven’t tried it before; it’s absolutely delicious and definitely worth a try!

Our favorite cozy Japanese spot in downtown is conveniently located just across from the waterfront station! They serve a variety of Japanese dishes including donburi, sushi, curry and more. With an extensive menu to choose from, we highly recommend their lunch sets, which offer an assortment of items to try.

We recently satisfied our Japanese BBQ cravings at 🍖, and it is safe to say it did not disappoint!👏 Sumo Grill offers a hidden upscale dining experience located just 8 minutes away from Metrotown.

Aside from the spacious and aesthetically pleasing interior, all of the dishes were nicely presented, high quality, and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the AB Chuck Flat and the Pork Belly cuts, as they were tender and marinated in a flavorful sauce. The King Salmon Oshi was creamy and buttery with a nice umami touch. We definitely recommend coming here for special occasions!

Pro tip: Check out their lunch sets that start at $19.95 from 11:30am to 4:00pm! They also have happy hour after 9:30pm 😋

However, our absolute favourite addition has to be the bubble tea🤩 Having a refreshing drink to balance out the house-made spice was truly a game-changer. Among the other noteworthy additions are shrimp for protein, rice noodles and noodles for a base, and the mushroom and devil chilli sauce. For those who like the heat or enjoy a good challenge, we highly recommend giving their devil chilli sauce a try. Be warned, it’s the kind that sneaks up on you gradually, so don’t be deceived by its initial taste😈

is located in Surrey! It offers a variety of gourmet burgers, sandwiches, wraps and wings. They build your burgers to order and are open until 12am/2am, depending on the day. It’s a great option for a late night snack!

💭: We tried their Signature Fab Burger, which has a beef patty, beef bacon, mozzarella cheese, tomato, lettuce and topped with a fried egg. The next burger we tried is the meaty muncher, which has breaded crispy chicken, beef patty, purple slaw, cheddar cheese, pickles and tomatoes. You can order the burger as a standalone or order it as a meal. The meal comes with onion rings or fries and a drink. Lastly, we had their signature honey garlic wings. It had the perfect combination of sweet and savoury. The breading was crispy and the meat was tender and juicy.

We highly recommend trying the wings. If you enjoy a lot of protein in your burgers, the meaty muncher is perfect for you. We liked the Signature Fab Burger a bit more because it added a little twist to the classic burger!

💭: The tropical mango smoothie is made with mango, banana, strawberry, protein, coconut milk, Medjool date. We loved how there’s little chunky bits in each sip. The blueberry açai yogurt is made with greek yogurt, oat milk, blueberries, organic açai, organic blue agave syrup. The flavours of greek yogurt and oat milk compliments each other well and surprisingly isn’t very overpowering. The texture of the smoothie is smooth and silky compared to the other smoothie! ca is a restaurant that offers customizable Chinese comfort food. Dragon Bowl is located on Alberni St in Downtown Vancouver, right down the street from shops. Their menu includes a variety of protein and sides that lets you easily build the bowl to your liking. There’s also a few options to add extras like soup and drinks to upgrade your meal.

💭: Dragon bowl is located at a great location as it’s easily accessible - especially if you’re hungry from shopping in DT. We love poke bowls and how they let you build your own bowls so we were excited that dragon bowl had a similar structure. To build your own bowl, you pick a base, protein of your choice, sauce and sides. We highly recommend trying their dragon sauce and you can handle the heat, try their spicy dragon sauce as both are made fresh in house. They use 20 different types of spices and hot oil to create a nice spice that compliments the food you’re eating. The bowl comes with three sides out of the six that they offer. You can make your bowl into a combo by adding a braised egg, soup, drink or water. We recommend adding tofu (with curry sauce) and an egg to your bowl as both are super flavourful and a great addition. We really enjoyed customizing our bowl to our liking, so we loved every single part of the experience.

When life hands you limes, find someone with tequila and salt!

is a Mexican restaurant hidden in the heart of Surrey. The family owned business is located right underneath the Old Surrey Restaurant. Their menu includes a variety of authentic dishes and each dish are prepared with love and care. Salsa and Guacamole is known for their tequila flights and offers an extensive list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. They also have a Happy Hour menu that runs everyday from 12-5pm!

💭: Our all-time favourite type of taco has to be hands down the fish tacos. We specifically visited on a Tuesday because that’s the only day they offer it. We loved how crispy the fish was and the amount of sauce inside. It provided the perfect crunch in each bite, without it feeling too heavy. Another popular dish that we tried was the birria tacos. The meat was nice and tender, paired with a flavourful broth and light onion crunch. Our favourite (aside from the fish tacos) had to be the chicken quesadilla. It was super cheesy and the chicken was juicy and tender. We highly recommend saving some space to order the Nutella and Dulce de Leche churros, which are made fresh🤤 For the drinks, Paloma would be more suitable if you like sweeter drinks, Lime Margarita if you like tangy drinks and Mango Margarita if you like stronger ones. If you’re a Tequila lover we suggest trying their tequila flight as it comes with three different types.

@dragonbowl.ca opened up their third location in yaletown, but with a twist. They are located in club kitchen - a new dining concept where you can order from 13 different restaurants at one location! This way, everyone has something to eat. You can order at the counter, at a kiosk or on their website. Dragon Bowl is a must try for their affordable and heathy chinese comfort food.
