Haven’t been too active here recently, but with good reason (I think). Currently 3 weeks into my new dream job at and juggling two night classes at BCIT and various freelance projects in the meantime. So lots of designing still going on! Sharing this project I did for one of my courses, making an illustrated vector of one of my old headshots. No Image Trace here! 😉

Awesome new headshots by at last week. This chica is beyond talented. Thank you to (and specifically and ) for organizing an incredible event. All proceeds from these headshots went to the , which is giving me all the feels.

Grateful for these amazing, talented, professional women.

It’s still Type Tuesday! I’ve been getting a bit sidetracked by real life things like moving and commitments, but I’m still here, creeping on your posts and taking in all things designed. For today’s post, I recoloured a page I designed as part of ’s 2018 winter distribution catalog.

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment, and if you met me while I was backpacking solo from November 2018 to last June, you know I’ve had my fair share of adventure this year. I’m just as excited for the next chapter ahead as I get settled in the new apartment and start work on some exciting projects (stay tuned)!

Spent the past week in a little slice of heaven in the Pacific North West called Hornby Island. While I was there, I was able to work on this sweet and simple piece of collateral for ’s Corporate Health & Wellness services.

If you’re running a business, it’s so important to invest in your biggest asset – namely, your employees! RYB’s Corporate Health services include job-specific wellness plans, team workshops, and much more.

This 4-page brochure looks good over email or in print, and incorporates RYB’s signature youthful brand in a way that still appeals to no-nonsense corporate clients. @ Hornby Island

Happy ! Today I’m featuring a typeface near and dear to my heart, i.e. the first font I ever bought. Woodland by .pangram is a gorgeous display font that looks feminine and modern without being frilly or tacky. It comes in a family of 6 weights and is incredibly versatile. Worth every cent!

Who else wishes these were real??

Impostor syndrome is a real struggle for everyone, but especially creatives. When it comes to anything creative, whether it’s designing, writing, dancing, or anything else, there’s no right and wrong (unless you use papyrus, then you’re wrong). It’s easy to see people’s amazing work and compare yourself to them. It’s also easy to overlook or minimize your own talent and progress. I keep reminding myself that every designer brings their own thing to the table and that practice makes progress! I guess that will do in lieu of magic pills. 💊

That said, some existential crisis pills would be great because I can’t believe it’s already mid-August and because bees are dying at an alarming rate. @ Vancouver, British Columbia

My favourite day of the week is back! It’s Type Tuesday, friends. Baskerville is a truly underrated font, in my humble opinion. It’s a beautiful, classic, web-friendly serif (all the serif type on my website is Baskerville).

If you didn’t know, I got my BA in English literature from the University of British Columbia in 2016. Baskerville has this gorgeous literary quality to it that reminds me of curling up with a 400 page book in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre library – and yes, that is my definition of a good time. 😉 @ University of British Columbia

Creating ’s nutrition ebook also included creating lots of custom graphs and charts. This Venn diagram showing how foods fit into different macronutrient categories was especially fun to create.

By custom-making all of the visual data elements in the ebook we ensured that all the visuals remained on brand, making for a seamless client experience.

Whenever my world feels upside down, whether I’m alone in an unfamiliar city or job hunting at home surrounded by ambitious, successful people, yoga is something I always return to.

I wanted to keep playing with illustrations on Illustrator and created this series of hand-drawn yoga icons.

Any suggestions on which ones to do next? @ Vancouver, British Columbia

Who else ever gets stuck feeling overwhelmed and discouraged about their goals? 🙋🏻‍♀️

There are days when I feel inspired, motivated, and creative. Those are the days when it feels like ideas are flooding my brain and all I want to do is create, plan, and make connections. But sometimes everything looms so large and my tasks seem sisyphean. When that happens I remind myself that perfection is the enemy of progress. So, to summarize: onwards & upwards! The only way to keep growing is to keep going. 🌿

[Part 2/2] Having branded social media assets adds a sense of professionalism and cohesion to a brand’s or content creator’s profile. Social media gives everyone a platform, from individuals to huge companies, so it’s important to take those extra steps to set yourself apart and develop brand recognition to attract your ideal audience. @ Vancouver, British Columbia
