ended of 2023 with a bang 🧨

this past week and a half I have been in Hawaii with my family and really soaking in every moment. I have been calling myself “vacation Georgia” because I’m more go with the flow and not as scheduled as I normally am. I’ve been trying new things like parasailing, ropes courses (didn’t love that one lol 😳), new foods, books, shows and more and it’s been so fun.

One of my goals for this new year is to bring out vacation Georgia more often and be more go with the flow rather than seeking the comfort of routine and schedules ALL THE TIME. Now with saying that, of course I am a routine girly 🫡 so I’m definitely not going to stop doing them, just be more flexible 🫨

Some of my other 2024 goals include:

• training for and running a half marathon!! 👟
• reading 45 books 📚
• putting together my dream closet/wardrobe
• growing out my hair (I want to cut and donate it again once it’s long enough)
• get a fitness certification (I’m thinking spin?)
• become the strongest, healthiest, fittest version of me yet!!

There are some other goals I’m working towards too but I’ll keep those a secret for now 😉🤫

What are some of your 2024 goals??

In this phase of my life, I’ve been learning to balance working a full time job, my content creation/social media work, keeping up a healthy lifestyle, family time and my own personal development. I have so much more to learn but it has been such a period of growth so far and I’m loving it 🥹🫶🏻

a little weekly photo dump 🫶🏻

This past week has been filled with so many new adventures and memories that I am so grateful for! Some highlights of the week:

🏋🏼‍♀️ trying new workout classes!! I have taken SIX new (to me) workout classes in the last 5 days alone. I’ve tried Solidcore, F45 and Lagree West Pilates. My body is SO sore but I love testing my body and trying these different types of workouts.

🌅 sunsets and sunrises! I am so grateful to be living in a condo with a 360° view so whenever I get the chance I’m watching the sun go up and the sun go down!

📍our weekend Seattle trip!! So many fun memories made in Seattle from visiting the pike place market, eating delicious food, going up the space needle, riding the Ferris wheel and shopping I’m so grateful for that time with my dad and sister.

Maybe I’ll have to start doing these photo dumps more often because this season of my life is for trying new things, learning and growing! 🫶🏻

So, what is something new you’ve tried recently?

the end of an era 🫶🏻

today our moving begins! I like to reflect on the past 6 months every time we relocate and start fresh again.

Coming here in May, I wrote out a list of things I wanted to do, see, become, accomplish, etc. i actually ended up achieving almost everything on that list + more 🫶🏻

Some of my favourite things that happened over the past 6 months are:

birthday manicure dates with my sisters, daily walks in the forest with my family and meeting SO MANY ANIMALS (like if you look at my camera roll it’s probably 50% animals), taking care of duke our friends dog, going to a vegan expo, making new friends!!, going to a abra cadabra (Abba tribute) concert, celebrating my 20th birthday in Victoria, trying new things (rock climbing, spin classes, painting pottery), our weekly tennis, seeing old friends, living alone for the first time and so much more!

Thank you to everyone who made this era special 💛

taking in every moment 🍂🫶🏻

In my newest podcast episode I talked about something I am reminded about all the time which is that time goes by so fast.

I can’t believe another 6 months of being in BC has gone by and in just over a week the next chapter begins.

So this is your (and my) reminder to not take any moment for granted because they are all special 💛

what I meal prepped this week 👩🏼‍🍳

“Do I need to eat breakfast?”

Let's chat about one of the most debated topics in the world of health and fitness - breakfast! 🥞🥑 As someone who’s been on my health and wellness journey for a long time, I have gone through periods where I didn’t breakfast and periods where I do.

For some, breakfast is the fuel that kickstarts our day, and that's fantastic! It provides energy to start your day. intermittent fasting has also gained popularity, proving that skipping breakfast can work for some people.

The key is to listen to your body! If you wake up hungry, honor those hunger pangs with a nourishing breakfast that aligns with your goals. But if you're not feeling that morning appetite, don't force-feed yourself.

Opt for nutrient-dense options that keep you full and focused throughout the morning - think smoothie bowls bursting with nutrients, tofu (or egg) scramble to kick your day off with some protein or oatmeal packed with fiber.

Remember, it's not just about WHAT you eat but also HOW it makes you feel. And, of course, staying hydrated is non-negotiable!

So, whether you're a breakfast lover or prefer to skip breakfast, the ultimate goal is to support your well-being. It's all about making choices that make you feel your absolute best.

Share your breakfast thoughts below and let's keep this conversation going!

Weekly foodspo 🎃

“Are carbs unhealthy?”

Carbs are not bad!!!

they're actually our body's preferred energy Complex carbs, found in whole foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains, are nutritional powerhouses. They provide sustained energy, fiber, and essential nutrients.

As for processed sugars and processed grains it’s different. When we load up on these, it can lead to energy spikes and crashes, messing with our mood and cravings. That's the part we want to be cautious about.

My main carb sources are sweet/regular potatoes, quinoa, oats, veggies, fruits, rice and more – these complex carbs keep our energy steady, support those workouts, and contribute to overall well-being.

So overall being conscious about carb choices, opting for nutrient-packed options is most important overall.

What are your favourite carb sources?

“why is fibre important?”

Fibre is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it promotes digestive health by preventing constipation and supporting regular bowel movements. It also helps in maintaining a healthy weight by providing a feeling of fullness, which can prevent overeating.

Beyond that, fibre is super helpful to your heart. It helps lower cholesterol levels and regulates blood sugar, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes.

The magic of fibre doesn't stop there—it's a key player in supporting a diverse and robust gut microbiome. A healthy gut is linked to improved immunity and better mental well-being.

Fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes are great sources of fibre. Here are some high fibre meal ideas!!

what I eat in a day 🫶🏻 after finishing 75 hard!!

I did you guys!! I have officially finished the 75 hard challenge! I wanted to share what a day of eating looks like for me post challenge and share what my goals are now 💛

Afternoon snack: green grapes, Brazil nuts and cashews

So what are my goals now?

I am still eating vegan, lots of fruits and veggies, whole food sources of protein and less faux meats, healthy fats like flax, h**p hearts, chia seeds, avocado, pumpkin seeds, nuts etc and also increasing my intake of complex fibre rich carbohydrates like quinoa, brown rice and sweet potato. Overall im cutting down and back on more processed foods and sticking to whole foods as much as I can.

weekly foodspo 🫶🏻

About 3.5 weeks ago I got my first ever blood test to see the levels of micronutrients and vitamins in my body. Yesterday I got the results back and it was really eye opening!

The results showed I am deficient in Copper which is something I would have never known otherwise. The doctor recommended for me to supplement but also to increase my intake of cashews and sunflower seeds.

On the positive side I was super happy to see that my calcium, vitamin b12 and iron levels were all good even though I am vegan 🫶🏻

If you’re interested in being your healthiest self, I definitely recommend getting a blood test if you can.

Have you ever had a micronutrient test done? What was your experience?

Im gonna be honest.

TW: eating disorder talk

Something I’ve wanted to talk about that I’ve kinda kept quiet over the past couple of months is the topic of eating disorders. I am so grateful and thankful to say I have NEVER had/currently have a ED. This is something my mom was always very careful with me growing up and making sure we were eating enough because she had a severe ed in her teens.

But of course, with social media and all of the content available we aren’t always protected from those ideas.

I have had eating disorder tendencies in the past and still am overcoming them but I feel myself growing and learning and overcoming them every single day.

One thing that has been huge for me is realizing that food is literally fuel for every single thing we do in life. Breathe, walk, hug, workout, run, swim, write, EVERYTHING!

I do my best to make sure what I eat is fuelling me, through eating enough, eating a variety of foods and ENJOYING what I eat!

This is something I want to start sharing more about and I would love to hear your experience or take on this subject if you feel open to talking about it 🫶🏻

if you know me, you know I am always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible 🌱

I recently discovered the brand which creates vegan handbags, backpacks, briefcases, wallets, belts and more!!

Some reasons I love this brand is because…

1. They use all vegan materials to create their pieces including leather made from pineapples, and they use recycled materials!

2. They have started the First Five For The World program which donates 5% of net sales to non profits that benefit animals, people and the environment 🌍

3. They have a beautiful assortment of pieces for everyone! From work totes to bring to the office, backpacks for school, belts to dress fancier, or a passport wallet when traveling, there is something for everyone!!

I am currently obsessed with my Mini Wallet in the black polka dot print and can’t wait to add to my collection of Doshi Bags.

I have finished my twenty ninth book of 2023 which means it’s time for a book review 🫶🏻

Book: Atomic Habits by
Genre: non fiction/self help
Source: I purchased this from
Rating: 4.5/5

This is my second time reading this book and it was just as good as the first! A book worth reading once a year.

It lays out all the rules of changing/developing habits in a simple, straightforward way and gets right to the point without a bunch of rambling and seemingly unrelated filler chapters like some other self development books i've read.

We must sort out our daily habits before we can begin to feel better and more fulfilled in our lives. But how do we do this?

Gradual change is the answer. If we improve each day by just 1% by the end of the year we will be dramatically and unrecognizably better. Winning tiny battles will determine our future self. Identifying bad habits that are ruining our potential is the key to change. We must eradicate them, slowly, if need be, and replace them with habits that allow us to grow each day.

We also need to design a system to achieve our goals. Simply having goals is not enough. We need to have an actionable framework on how we can move towards these otherwise we will never reach them. We must have a process to follow and daily habits that allow us to achieve them. Our level of commitment to the process will determine our level of progress. Sticking to healthy proactive habits with our end goals in mind is the key.

Atomic Habits is a read I recommend for anyone trying to step up their game, in any facet of life, with the reminder that refinement and improvement are continuous, long-term processes.

75 HARD DAY 11 + mini 75 hard q&a💪🏻✨🔥

So proud of myself for staying consistent these past 11 days and can’t wait to see where the next 64 take me! I thought it would be fun and helpful to do a mini 75 hard q&a so let’s get into it!!

1. WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR 75 HARD?
The 75 Hard Challenge is based on five simple rules. These include committing to two daily 45-minute workouts (one must be outdoors), following a diet plan without any cheat days, drinking a gallon of water daily, reading ten pages of a non-fiction book, and taking a progress picture daily.

2. WHY AM I DOING THIS CHALLENGE?
I personally love doing challenges and tests to see what my body can do! Because I am a online fitness coach and currently work from home, this challenge is actually quite attainable for me. These are daily habits I aim for, but don’t always complete whether I’m not feeling like it or don’t prioritize them. So this challenge is a great way for me to stay on top of all of the habits I want to do for 75 days straight.

3. HOW AM I FEELING?
I am honestly feeling so good! I feel self disciplined, consistent and on top of things. Of course I don’t feel motivated every day, but i still get it done because that’s what I set out to do. I’m excited to continue seeing results!!

4. WHO SHOULD DO THE 75 HARD CHALLENGE?
75 Hard could be a good program for someone who’s already active but probably isn’t suitable for beginners. The daily list of activities and tasks to be completed can feel daunting for someone who is just getting into fitness. But if you’re at a intermediate or advanced fitness level and want to test yourself this would be something you may want to look in to!

Have you ever tried the 75 hard challenge? What are your thoughts on this challenge?

I have finished my twenty eighth book of 2023 which means it’s time for a book review 🫶🏻

Book: Dare To Lead by
Genre: non fiction/leadership
Source: I purchased this from
Rating: 2.5/5

Another meaningful and inspiring work from Brené Brown. I think it will be especially beneficial to anyone in a leadership position who wants to improve relationships. Dare to Lead’ explores the characteristics of brave leaders who are not afraid to demonstrate genuineness, dialogue on differences, and exhibit empathy. Vulnerability, courage, fear, shame, empathy and many other aspects are explored in depth. I especially liked how ‘shame’ is explored as a theme.

While there is a good amount of interesting material in the book, it does tend to be very theoretical & dry in many parts. The book vaguely refers to research all the time without enough personal / other people’s experiences which would have made it easier reading. Nevertheless, I do recommend the book as it has a lot of good behavioral insights which leaders should certainly know about and practice.

We are all leaders, whether we are bosses, parents, older siblings, influencers, etc. this book definitely takes leadership more in a corporate role which didn’t resonate with me, but I still got some good points and lessons from it.

I have finished my twenty seventh book of 2023 which means it’s time for a book review 🫶🏻

Book: Superlife by
Genre: health and fitness/nutrition
Source: I purchased this from
Rating: 2.5/5

There is a lot of excellent health information in this book. It is a great starting point for those that want to start to take their health into their own hands and reverse some of the damage that has been done over years of poor health habits.

The author has a clear passion for health and for sure practices what he preaches for a healthy lifestyle. I personally like that this book is not just food oriented, as I already knew much of the food portion of the text, I liked the other 4 life changes that can be assessed and adjusted. I was fascinated by the chapter on hydration. I think most people know they should be drinking more water than they actually do, but it's mind-boggling to learn how something as simple as being properly hydrated can "cure" some much more major health issues (as I sit here thinking about how I should go get a glass of water). And I'm sure even less people know that the type of water you consume makes a difference, too. The sections on detoxification, oxygenation and alkalization were checked full of information I was unaware of, and although some of it I skimmed over (all those big nutritional words lost me a little), I still enjoyed learning the overall lesson from each of the five forces.

Worth a read if you want to think more about the effect of what we put into our bodies and how we can adjust our lifestyle to live better. Some facts i disagree with but overall if you are thinking about making serious diet/lifestyle changes, this is a great book to pick up.

Eggplant gyros 🍆

1 large eggplant, thickly sliced
2 pita breads (I used whole wheat)
Cucumber slices
Tomato slices
Red onion
Lettuce
Salt and pepper
Ingredients for tzatziki:
1/2 cup dairy free yogurt
1/4 cucumber, shredded or diced
1 garlic clove, minced
Fresh mint
Fresh dill
Juice of half a lemon

Mix the tzatziki ingredients together and season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate while you prepare the rest of the recipe. Grill the eggplant pieces either on a grill pan on the stove top or on the barbecue until charred and golden brown. Add the eggplant, cucumber, tomato, onion, and lettuce on the pitas. Add the tzatziki on top. Enjoy!
