Gerry Fumo was instrumental in pioneering the HOUSE music sensations back in the early 1980`s. It was his vision that set up the foundation for what is now known as URBAN HIP-HOP in Canada. Gerry was co-founder and president of BLAST and BIG SHOT RECORDS as well as FUMO PUBLISHING. Fumos` artists such as Ron Allen, In-Dex and Dionne all achieved gold album sales in Europe and South America. Other
Canadian artists on his roster include; Thando, Jillian Mendez, Amy Jackson, Melina Marx, Landlord and Greg Lee to name a few. He has had the opportunity to collaborate with many producers and artists in North America. Another artist under Gerrys` tutelage at the time, Rupert Gayle, has written for Warner/Chappell and SONY BMG. Rupert has also collaborated with Canadians, Keisha Chante, Shawn Desman, Ryan Malcolm as well as many others. Not only active in the music and entertainment industry, Fumo has established himself as a driving force in championing the causes for youth in the York Region and Southern Ontario area. He was past President Elect of the OPTIMIST CLUB OF RICHMONDHILL; an international organization whose mandate is to help youth. For this organization, Gerry spearheads numerous charity efforts that have helped various groups reach out and provide positive change to many of the youths in need, in Ontario and abroad. As well, Gerry sits on the advisory committees of various sports clubs in the Vaughan area. Through his sponsorship initiatives, many young athletes are able to participate in competitive sports through Fumos generosity. Organizations such as the Vaughan Soccer Association, Innisfil Minor Hockey and St David Basketball have all benefited greatly with Gerry’s contributions. His charitable efforts and community service initiatives have garnered Fumo many prestigious Mayoral awards from the City of Vaughan, The Town of Richmond Hill, OPTIMIST Clubs of Ontario and OPTIMIST OF THE YEAR FOR OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL. Gerry Fumo is also, President of International Sales and Marketing for P.O.P. A company that specializes in manufacturing displays in the music and general entertainment industry. Fumo oversees all aspects of production designs as well as marketing initiatives for his clients. Many of his designs are presently in all Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Future Shop, Zellers, Shoppers Drug Mart, just to name a few. Currently, Gerry is Director and Founder of 3PK Productions Inc. Together with Assistant Manager and nephew, Vince DiVito; they both co-manage Daniel Panetta, a 18 year old Pop, Jazz and Opera phenomenon.
