The winter is the time for telling stories -- and do we have stories for you! This year's amazing titles include the horrifying anthology of scary stories, ZEGAAJIMO, edited by Kateri Akiwenzie-Damm and Nathan Adler, which is the perfect book to curl up by the fire with. Then there is the YA wonderwork SECRETS OF STONE by Coltrane Seesequasis, an immersive fantasy featuring sentient wolves (how can you go wrong with that?!). Finally we have a treat for the littlest readers, the delightful COUNTING AT KITS BEACH by Oliver McDonald, a book that introduces youngsters to numbers while leading them on a excursion around Kitsilano Beach.(Notice: stocks of COUNTING AT KITS BEACH have currently sold out and the book will be available only in the new year).

From the ACP (Association of Canadian Publishers):

"A member has shared that some of their authors have received fraudulent emails from someone claiming to represent Glennon Doyle's We Can Do Hard Things podcast, requesting an interview. The emails are personalized to the author, and appear legitimate, including potential topics of discussion that are related to their book topic. However, once the authors engaged with the contact, requests were made to either access their Facebook back end to "check on technical specifications" for a Facebook live event; or for PayPal account details to provide payment for their appearance on the podcast. These emails are completely fraudulent phishing scams."

Something to look forward to!!!

Looks like a two-book year for 2025. Can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am to be back home with Kegedonce Press for the next big poetic romp across turtle island. My collection Commonwealth will be ambling into the world bison style in no time at all. And here is your official warning.

Fresh off my Indiana Authors Award and Trillium Book Award Shortlists for my most recent work with this storied press, this new work returns to the Hoosier homelands for an in-depth look at how migration is in our essence and ongoing Indigenous acts of reclamation, remembrance, and return are central to a collective healing. This is our search for a proper Commonwealth, one that Tecumseh died for, and that as our collective debt we must continue to search out and build.

Wanishi to the Ontario Arts Council - Conseil des arts de l'Ontario for making this book happen through their generous project funding.
