Canada Post has released a new stamp recognizing Métis visual artist and environmentalist, Christi Belcourt.

Known for her paintings that emulate Métis floral beadwork, Belcourt uses her talent to celebrate nature, honour her ancestors, advocate for the protection of land and water, and support Indigenous knowledge, culture and language.

This stamp is one of three Indigenous Leaders stamps that were released on June 21.

The set is the third in Canada Post's multi-year Indigenous Leaders series

In a historic move, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation will now be issuing Indian Status cards for Rez Dogs 🐾

Starting today, all on-reserve Rez dogs are required to have a status card. Members can book an appointment with Skloud at our Membership Department to get their dogs' photos taken for their status cards.

No dogs will be allowed entry into the 'Pawz n' Clawz' Special at the Powwow without their card!
