Our Story

Educational, fun, fresh and innovative describe Amigoe’s school edition, ‘Amigoe op School’ a.k.a. AoS! The beginning

In 2010, Amigoe was invited to brainstorm with different teachers at Colegio Arubano, to come up with ideas to create a reading material that was more adapted to our region and suitable for the age group of the students. In 2012, the Amigoe op School launched officially and it was a tabloid newspaper with a compilation of different articles that have recently been published in Amigoe. Because the feedback was so positive, Amigoe decided to continue to publish and distribute the ‘Amigoe op School’ to all schools all around Aruba. After a few years, the students started to show their interests for writing, photography and journalism. The ‘Amigoe op School’ was transformed from a compilation of news articles into a platform where students can practice their interest in writing, photography and journalism, with the guidance of Amigoe-employees and their schoolteachers.
