"You guys absolutely killed it with the music throughout the whole event, our guests could not stop talking about how good it was! We wanted our wedding to be banger after banger, staying true to what we both loved and you definitely delivered. One person even said it was the best music they'd heard at all the weddings they'd been to - I call that winning!

This week in 1971 you weren't cool unless you trotted out to get this absolute firecracker off the shelf of your local record emporium.

With scandalous album design care of Andy Warhol (the zip still works!), this stone cold classic features the Stones at the height of their powers. Every track and every performance is truly unmissable with the likes of 'Can't You Hear Me Knocking', 'Bitch' and 'Brown Sugar' blowing your socks off while 'Dead Flowers', 'Moonlight Mile' and 'Wild Horses' swoop in to soothe the soul.

Five stars. Recommend. Essential. No ifs, ands, or buts.

From 'Son of a Preacher Man', 'The Look of Love', 'I Only Want to Be With You', to 'You Don't Have to Say You Love Me', 'Wishin' and Hopin'', and 'Spooky', it can be hard to choose which of her hits to play - so much so I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself!

On 30 July 2001 The Strokes' seminal debut of the modern age, Is This It, was first released in Australia. 🌏

Someday it might be worth highlighting individual tracks but I had another listen last nite, and as a whole there's soma-ch to like. The songs work well alone, together even better.

It's not hard to explain, it slaps so hard from start to finish it's barely legal (might have to bring these guys to the attention of the NYC cops!?).

If you haven't heard it before you can take it or leave it, but it's worth trying your luck...

On this day in 1972 psychedelic soul went to the movies for this essential soundtrack from Curtis Mayfield. Super Fly the film may not have been all that memorable, but there are no shortage of gems on this one from the title track, to lead single 'Freddie's Dead', and personal favourite 'Pusherman'.

Don't get a habit, but get in the habit of slinging this one on the platter on the reg!
