I wanted to talk a little about logo design. Which is never an easy job. You want to create something unique and inspiring for a client but they aren’t always on the same page. In a recent job we discussed with the client using a plus symbol but they weren’t really too sure. So we provided them some with and without options until we finally settled with incorporating a plus symbol into an A for “Acquire”. It’s challenging work, but we love it. 🎨 Understanding the Four Types of Logos 🎨

Your logo is the face of your brand. It is how your audience instantly recognises you, and it sets the tone for your entire brand identity. Let’s dive into the four main types of logos and what makes each one unique:

Wordmark (Logotype) 🖋️
Definition: A wordmark is a font-based logo that focuses on the business’s name alone.
Examples: Google, Coca-Cola, Sony

Brandmark (Symbol or Icon) 🌟

We’ve been doing a bit of logo work lately and thought it would be fun to talk about the four types of logos (anyone who wants to bring up emblems we’ve been arguing in the office about that and I run the social media so I won - they’re part of the brandmark / pictorial family)!

You’ll notice Piccolo Media have a combination logo. But there is no right or wrong style but if you are starting out, we believe it always helps to have your brand name front and centre!

The team at had a blast bringing these jewels to life through our photography and creative direction. We worked closely with team to capture the essence of the brand and showcase the intricate details of each piece.
