The Equity Foundation is delighted to announce that Sydney-based NIDA graduate JK Kazzi is the winner of the 2024 Bunya Graduate Internship. JK will spend a week on the set of Bunya Production’s highly anticipated new TV series in Western Australia later this year.

Bunya’s Greer Simpkin says: "The applicants for this internship showcased the incredible array of emerging talent we have in Australia. Watching everyone's auditions was an absolute pleasure and we were spoiled for choice. We would particularly like to commend our top five finalists. It was a tough decision, but JK Kazzi stood out with his captivating and dynamic performance, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming him to set later this year."

This week the acting legends Deb Mailman, Rachel House and Brooke Satchwell visited The Purple House in Alice Springs during the lunch service. The Purple House is an Indigenous led and run organisation which provides vital dialysis service in Alice Springs and in 19 remote clinics, as well as 2 mobile dialysis ‘purple trucks’. It is an incredible organisation. We have announced this morning that Sophia Zachariou is leaving Bunya Entertainment, a company set up with Sophia in 2019, to develop and produce high end international tv shows. Sophia leaves the company in terrific shape, with a strong development slate and two big shows launching this year The Office Australia for Amazon (with BBC Studios) and Ladies in Black for the ABC. Thank you Sophia for your creativity, dynamism and tenacity.

Bunya Entertainment has announced that co-managing director Sophia Zachariou is departing the company after five years.

LIMBO Movie Wins Best Indie Film at the 2024 AACTA awards.

Limbo was made by a very small and dedicated team, with auteur Director Ivan Sen taking on many roles.

Congratulations to the whole team behind Limbo many of whom have worked with Ivan and Bunya Productions before, and are really like film family.

And of course congratulations to the incredible Simon Baker, Natasha Wanganeen and Rob Collins.
